I apologize if its posted somewhere but I haven’t seen it. Devon can we get a clear, precise answer about whether this league is a one time 7 week event or will it be ongoing?

Your new article sounds like it will be one season lasting seven weeks. But one sentence in there makes it unclear if Season 2 will start up after Season 1: “This will continue once the season is complete and be a permanent feature of WvW going forward.”

Anyone hear an official answer about this yet? And another question:

How are you going to deal with the Glicko ratings during the season regardless of whether it is ongoing or a tournament?

I assume you are going to freeze the Glicko ratings as they are before the tournament starts. If you don’t, it will create a huge gap between #12 and #13 servers that will NEVER be closed.

Now I started just assuming that seasons take place once a year possibly, but then I though, Well that seems like a long time for the “Temp” rewards for the winner. So i’d assume they arent back to back, Possibly separated by 3/4 months?

At a guess, it’s going to be a test to see if the playerbase responds well to it. If everyone’s like “nah this is rubbish” then it’ll be the first and last season.

Why would they need to test that? They already know how ppl will respond to uneven matches because its happening now.

Season 2 will depend on the success/failure of Season 1.

People might enjoy the structure of the league despite the matches, so ANet will continue with the leagues. People might not enjoy the league even if they have perfect matches, so ANet will not continue the leagues. I’m not sure whether you’re being daft on purpose.

7 weeks… If it shakes out like it sounds it will (T4 servers going against T1 servers) with little change to the zerg aspect of the matchups, I will definitely be headed to silver league.

Fighting 13 weeks of EBay when we were outmatched and heavily outnumbered was the least fun I have had in WvW so far. I cannot imagine enjoying that times a few hundred more enemy players.
