Hey all,
made a similar post in the general GW2 section about a month ago but no real interest was taken.
Figured I would put one here since the potion is basically used solely for WvW.
And sorry to the devs/forum staff if doubling up on a topic is bad practice and stuff.

As it is currently, the potion lasts 30 mins but debuffs if you go single and rally, go double or map to a different borderland which happens quite alot durin WvW. It also debuffs if transformation skills are used and even includes a necros deathshroud.

The potions themselves became a lot more popular as the pin snipe meta came about to hide the commanders character but they were used previously to show group solidarity especially for the heavies in the train.

Anyway, asking if an endless version could be added to the game.
Would also ask if some way to obtain was done through WvW such as badges or a gift of battle since that is where it is primarily used but the potion itself would be super awesome.

Since its more likely a dev will see this if the thread shows activity, comment, give feedback/suggestions or even just a +1 post .

Yeah I agree, I would pay good money (or gems) for an endless tonic, I love running them in WvW with my party. Also if you do make one, make it so you can change skills and use siege too.

+1 should be supported and looked into by devs as possible (or at least partial) solution to driver focus.. I know its not perfect but its a start

You put it into WvW subforum… better post in HoT section, cos devs looks here very rarely.

I’d definitely get this, should put it up on gem store for 800 and see the cash flow anet.

Endless mage potion for 800 gems is a good deal

1)Kills the market on single use potions
2)Loss of a currency sink in the long term
3)Anet loses money

Unless they make an endless version cost over 1000g, it would be a stupid business decision. Especially since players have proven they are willing to pay for the current ones.

please make it in such a way that it works the same way as the current potion where skills and utilities are available when in transformation.

They might have considered it a great deal more if not for your point 3.

Maining an Asura in a Legion of Charr(s), I have a very tough time seeing me in video review (to improve) so I shelled out for the regular potion but then realized that once downed, I’ve got to consume another. (ouch) So yeah, I’m not one to buy gems but I’d do it for an endless ascalonian mages potion and that’s more immediate cash for them. Anet could still build a way in to make it a challenge so as to not crash their economy…. there are plenty of other endless tonics that plenty of people find valuable. If there’s enough demand, there’s always a way to leverage it.

Better yet, we want more potions we can use in WvW that just change appearance and still leave full access to your skills.
Otherwise we will just end up with millions of Ascalonian Ghosts everywhere.

Not one to support a ranger on JQ :p but +1 to the idea maybe add it to a seasons reward idk.

I would add though more reasons it should be in the game seeing as how its of limited appeal to the playerbase since its mostly used in wvw.

No not a fan of this idea, it gives me great pleasure to kill those with the potion up. Knowing it will cost them more than the usefull consumables

While this would help, wouldn’t pin snipers then look at rank? They are not always the highest rank, but often are. And if they aren’t doesn’t it become known often what rank they are? May need option to mask rank as well….

I believe they had this kind of thing in mind when they started making “combat transformation” tonics like the watchwork knight one. But I don’t even think you can use that one in WvW. Seems silly.

I would definitely love to have a variety of infinite battle tonics with no restrictions on them.

An added point a lot of people don’t think about is that it would really help necros because tonics break when you use a transform skill.

Death shroud breaks it. Plague breaks it. Lich breaks it.

The one use tonic is so unfair to necros :c

Anet should really look into fixing that btw >.>
