I know there’s been a lot of debate on this, but is ascended gear necessary to excel in WvW? My issue is that I keep going through build changes, and it is impractical (and a massive time sink) for me to get new ascended items whenever my guild wants me to run a different build, or when the meta shifts. Thanks!

No if you run with a blob and use a suggested build with similar stats.

Yes if you want to fight in your best form

Overall, it gives an approximate +/-12% to 19% stat boost if compared to ascended.

Excluding the ring/amulet/trinkets which are easily obtainable via laurel vendor, I think only the weapon is a must. It really do increase damage potential.

The armor pieces are a luxury for those who can afford it. Not really nescessary…
