Right, so I got an ascended chest twice now in WvW, by ranking up. I am currently rank 32X, so that’s a droprate of about 1/160 for such a chest. Not a whole lot IMO.

Thing is, I got a Dire chest twice. Now, I know Dire is a perfectly viable stat to use in condition based builds. But that’s the thing, I don’t find condi builds challenging to play, so I just have the Dire chests sitting in my vault.

One might argue that you should be able to choose the stat you want when you finally get lucky after 160 rank-ups. It would take you ~1k ranks to get a full set. Would be nice to get the set you want… Or am I stepping on too many farmer-toes?

I’m over 1200 in rank and got about 3 ascended chest I believe. So for me it’s 1/400

Main account at 800+ ranks and never ever got a chest. Alt account at rank 50 something got one a day ago, it was Shaman but that was my first chest ever. But I guess it keeps the ridiculous gold sink..I mean crafting system useful.

I’m over 1470 and I never got a ascended chest. (I got some rings however, which isn’t impressive as they are easily obtainable)

So that’s a 0/1470.

I have a magi weapon box and an apothecary armor box that I’ll probably never use, even when I get ascended stuff it’s useless to me. I’ll probably get one of the really cheap precursors, and then never get another one. Rank 686, so I guess I’m getting more boxes than some people, at least.

rank 2400+, one Cleric Armor /i have no use of cleric armor/ , no weapons, few uselss rings.

Pretty sad when I’d rather have 2 yellows than a useless ascended ring or something.

At rank 700’ish, I’ve recieved

1.) Celestial ascended armor
2.) Rabid Asc Armor
3.) Knight Asc ring
4.) Soldier Asc Ring
5.) Cleric Asc Ring
6.) Apoth Asc Ring
7.) Celestial Asc Ring

It’s not too awful but the lack of control over drops tends to make it a bit frustrating when it’s pretty scarce.

Almost rank 1k, ZERO ascended drop.

Rank 810 and one Ascended chest to date plus one Ascended Ring.

Maybe it would be better instead of these asc. chests an rings you get an asc token.
An asc token and 10gold buy you an asc weapon/armor/trinket of your choice.

Rank 224. I’ve gotten:

1. Ebonmane (Apothecary) Weapon Chest (somewhere around the rank 30 mark)
2. Occam’s (Carrion) Armor Chest (at rank 221)

Both have found uses on my characters.

I’ve also gotten one or two Ascended Rings. (Useless since I get plenty of those from Fractals.)

rank 4xx, one apothecary armor box, one berserker ring and a gun that looks like a plant.

R1400+ and only one, useless chest

Keep in mind that the ascended chests were added quite some time after ranks. So counting all ranks (unless you started WvW after the chests were added) gives a rather incorrect view.

That’s a good point, lordkrall. In my case, I did only start doing WvW after the Ascended chests got introduced.

Rank 649 4 armor and 2 weapon chests.

I am rank 1056, never received an ascended as a drop (except for one really crappy ring). RNG sucks.

Rank 1235 atm and about 5-6 ascended chests all with different stats, basicly rotting away in my bank as its all, well differnt stats.

I have 2 ascended rings from WvW that I don’t use, but aren’t the worst stats. I have gotten way more ascended drops from pvp reward tracks.

RNG has been good to you.

I think the above shows how badly the loot droprate are, they give no consideration to the effort you put in or tactics or skills etc.
It’s all about RNG, we’ve known this since the first trial accounts were available. A new player comes into the game, plays for a few hours and gets a precusor; a player who’s been playing since launch, 4+ hours a day everyday, and they hadnt even received an exotic then! let alone a precusor.

Actually I didn’t get a single ascended piece for the first… 700 ranks. But I never really bothered recording till much later lol.

Rank 1,367, one ascended armor chest at rank 999, Knight stats. I only have two characters that spend the majority of their lives in WvW, a trapper Ranger (condition) and a maximum condition damage Necromancer. The chest will collect dust in my bank and probably never see use. GG.

Rank 300 something here. I have gotten one ring. Nothing else.

I’m rank 240-ish and I think I got a Settler’s weapon chest around rank 20 and a ascended ring not too long ago.

I went 900 before my first ascended piece. Oddly I have gone 400 without an exotic. I have never seen a pre-cursor despite 3k+ hours of very active play. IMO they have a bug in their RNG for some players and their loot system is garbage.

Now this is a good idea, even better then choosing the stats yourself on the gear/weapon chests. But hey, not going to happen sadly.

Personally, I like it that they are rare drop. When it happens, and it will since they aren’t THAT rare, I’m happy about it instead of being “meh”.

Ascended drops are overrated anyway.. 99% of time you cant do anything with it because it doesnt have the stats you need or you already have a piece with the stats you want.. You cant sell it or recycle it and it takes space in your bank tab..

For the record— I’m rank 378 and got 3 ascended things out of it.

I’m more happy about exotics..

1580 ranks. 2 weapons chests. Sadly shortly after my second chest my account was hacked and my account restored to right before I got the second chest lol. Probably had about 10 ascended rings. Probably unlucky in terms of ascended drops, but I got a precursor from WvW so I can’t complain.

What’s an ascended chest? never had one, rank 1300ish and counting…
