Guild Wars 2

I’m sure this has been discussed before, but dang if I can find it, so at the risk of rehashing an old topic, here goes:

I was messing around today with modifying my attack power and seeing how it affected both non-crit and crit damage. What I found was….confusing. It seems that while the crit damage was significantly impacted (I increased my attack power from the low 2800’s to the mid 3400’s, so a substantial change), the non-crit damage seemed hardly affected at all. FWIW I was performing my experiments on Veteran Guards in WvW, so that’s why I thought I’d post this here in case that skews things vs PvE, etc.

Can some kind soul please explain what might be going on? Tyvm.
