^I knew Riverside wasn’t just ‘stepping up’. They actually got thier guild migrations that helped them keep that score up.

No they didn’t.
RSC has always been on Riverside (the name is “Riverside Community”…).
The guild RSC was just inactive because of Perma Forever’s absence due to personal stuff.
The playerbase on Riverside hasn’t changed since last week.

Na, we had no guild migration to RS!
But we got some PvE players into WvW and doin a lot of action. I also think we had some tactical improvements, but as you guys know if the score is good it sometimes runs by itself

Earlier today I saw 3 blue keeps on your BL and your guys were running in our BL. So I was like “yeah, probalby 6 sup ACs behind each gate, ez”.
Ninjaed bay while RS was defending Gari. Then we ran trough the garrison then, we were all shocked by the amout of siege you can put into a single keep!
Voicecom went like this: “Lets look at it from that angle,…now from that angle… now from there…. Okay just leave it, there is no way to cap that!”

I dont remember the guild tags, but your zergli entered gari from west and left over the stairs on the east, right? We wonder if you try to attack, sadly you guys were smart enough not to play with your fortune – you definitely missed the best ;-) And I think I can speak on all of us, we are honored you feared our little Sparta!

What a evening last night was. I joined half way through primetime but a good couple of hours of some heavy duty action. It’s what its all about, enjoying the game, relatively lag free (barring one or 2 fights when there was soooooo many in an area). Really enjoyed it last night on AG BL. Hope RS and later BB had as much fun.

Shout out to the friends that helped take care of business for the evening. Again to the foes that make it fun, kudos all involved.

PS: If RSC is back in full-swing, you plan on hitting hills hard on next reset (if you dont get promoted) on the zone you spawn in the SE? Fingers crossed its AG, cause thats some yummy action promised right there. I miss the days when TUP had to defend hills against your entire zone

Goya has been on RS for months.

Nope. No bigger guild transfered to RS as far as i know. The guild [GOYA] has always been on RS. (or a certain rest of them remained as they left the server towards Elona).
But i could be in the wrong

Suddenly we have to wait an hour or even more at primetime to join WvW.
Not clear what is going on right now.

If you mean “Guardians of Yatagua”, they play on Riverside for a long Time as far as i know from release. They have also a long history in GW1.

Just trying to understand your big huge population increase. Ppl don’t believe it’s only PvE pop playing WvW and think guilds have moved to RS.

But its true. As i said before, i think a lot ppl are joining WvW because the score is good, and there is a slight chance that we will move up to the 3rd bracket. No one knows if we still have that much ppl when the times are getting harder.

I think a lot of ppl should calm down. This is just a game although many ppl put a lot of effort in their Servers. So plz don’t take rageposts too serious!
I also think we should get over the “teamup” at the last reset and keep havin good fights. Furthermore we should not blame a whole Server for some stupid hackers!

[RSC] Feierabend Bier is one of the best commander we have. His experience and his humanity bring many People back to WvW. I’m not in RSC, but we follow him all because the server exactly this needed. Maybe we have another round with BB and AG, but im sure this is the last one then.

He might be a good leader, but his soft skills could use quite a few improvements.
Not even starting about his absolutistic attitude in the chat.

GoYa has been on RS since Beta, and never moved We were just a little bit absent the last weeks, cause of college exams and stuff.. Anyways we enjoy the current matchup, BB and AG got our full Respect for the awesome fights. As far as i know no Guilds have moved to RS.

Yea, unfortunately it was deleted, altough its was funny imo.

We had some good fights at BB gari, but as always no one was there to take care of the siege at the morning time, and so we lost the it at 10 am after ~ 32h.
We have always hoped we will loose it in a big battle against 20 Golems :-(

So DsD (disidents) rejoined BB from Desolation and will be similar to RNV and cover offpeak more? or similar to nuke and bit of both prime/offpeak?

Riverside regained a influential commander, having a good start, planned events increasing PVER’s pressence in WvW and then fairweathers joining due to winning on points giving you a population boost on top of AG & BB slacking a bit.

Looks like Riverside will fall just short of promotion (gandara usually finish strong) with AG & BB anxiously looking over their shoulder at FSP progress.

Next week will be interesting, with all eyes on Riverside to see if you can keep your momentum and breach tier 3 and shake up both matchups… or if there will be a BB & AG Backlash if we get another decent round

Personally i’d like to see a AG v BB v GD matchup in the near future and see how it goes… but BB & RS as last night showed still plenty of fun to be had

Enjoy being in the middle of the Baruch-Riverside Rivalry and fighting you both, your both top ten servers in your own right fighting to regain your former tier… one sleeping giant as awoken, waiting for Baruch bay to be unified and rise like RS showed it can switch it on. AG has showed its not just making up the numbers by winning a round, and being able to competively compete with both your vastly experienced and slightly larger WvW population servers is a acheievement itself.

I feel both your servers could compete in tier 3, piken got zero night coverage now, like 10-15 guys which you would both exploit… Their russian daytime would exploit bb’s lack of people, but that would be made back in the night. Where Riverside are more well rounded with their coverage and if your day time could hold their russian zerg, your night team would more than capitalize on the difference.

DsD isn’t back and RNV left two weeks ago.

If i remember it right it is a long time ago and was in T2 or 3 against Blacktide and Seafarers on BT Border over 5 1/2 days with an very epic fight and without much sleep.

26 1/2 hours fight with completely destroyed outer walls and just held the inside from Trebuchet fire etc. I’ve gone to bed after 18 hours fight with open walls and as i get up we still have held the bay… but lost it then nearly to 12am. It was asewome to fear Xaoc everyday morning cuz they outmanned us everytime in the morning hours and at least they got it after 5 1/2 days. ._.
But it was in a time where no one knows how to attack the inner walls with Trebs from the supply camp.

It was last year… just crazy that i remembered it as you asked for.

Ye, DsD came back to Baruch, but they play half of the time in our prime time, so no much of a diference. RNV was more offpeak late night.

Yep…we got reinforcements. Hopefully we will manage one more frontier properly.

No, we don’t. It’s also kinda naive to think the return of a single player changes anything in WvWvW. Especially with 2 borderland channels being almost deserted at prime time, hence randoms or guilds on their own TS doing all the work there.

Good score attracts more people, as simple as that.

5 & 1/2 days ouch, way to demoralize a enemy

Cheers for the info Nuke, i dont know why people would deny facts, was just wondering how they would fit into BB’s setup and if our main raid would bump into them or not consistently, always seemed to miss fighting rnv with our main group due to different schedules but knew they were fairly decent.

one random casual who can only play half a hour to a hour a week in wvw wont change the WvW matchup much, but a very active daily and decent experienced commander (who works with the pugs) can easily have a big influence, especially if they can galvanize the server. Obviously they wont win it by themselves, no person or guild can have that much impact on a matchup, but a decent pug commander can almost look after a zone by themselves earning alot of points and giving other guilds more freedom to push on. It all adds to the feel good factor your server is riding atm due to momentum and morale (still dont understand why some people’s morale gets effected by score though in a video game) gl if you pip Gandara you will have more than earned it

Saying, the success of this week is the deed of “just one guy” is just as much an enormous simplification as saying it’s “just good scores attracting more people”.

I have noticed in this week (actually, already beginning mid of last week) that a large number of people were playing more actively again. Several commanders that I have rarely seen playing during the troubled past weeks seem to have started playing more actively again. (I could try to list their names but I would most likely forget some.) Their experience did most certainly help a lot, and they succeeded in covering a little more of the off-hours when we were used to loose pretty much ground. (Yes, I am looking at you, Aurora-Glade-we-stomp-you-in-the-early-morning-hours-squad. ) And it shows that if you have competent commanders acting on a map, then the rest of the players are willing to go that extra mile.

So, in my point of view, Riverside did not have an increase in the WvW population, but it had a significant increase in WvW activity.

Feierabend Bier is quite obviously a very ambitious and dedicated commander. And yes, at times he leads with the charm of a cliché drill sergeant. But you cannot deny the fact that, during this week, he succeeded in motivating a lot of players to act and defend as a team, and to play at off-hours. He may not be the only reason (or even the main reason) for the performance of this week, but his fingerprints are all over it.

But you are right of course that, in the long run, no server needs “that one guy” to play successfully. What is needed is a dedicated player base — commander, zergling, or newcomer alike — willing to invest time and to work together as a team for a common goal.

If BB goes down one tier you can blame your flyhackers guild. They produced so much anger against your server… I feel sorry for you if that really happens just because of some few ppl… But I guess you will have a week of fun, especially you will probably level pretty fast with the new system introduced by the patch.

If BB goes down its because RS has focused on us. BTW hackers are on both sides cause i’ ve reported several speedhackers by myself.
Don’t worry, we’ll meet again and this will not be forgotten.
