So GoM and Anvil Rock are doing the EB JP, we’re waving each other through, showing each other how to do the JP if we need help and some BP players are doing this too. All is good and we’re respecting each other when we’re waved through.
Enter BP 5 man gank teams, they wave people through and then GANK them as they pass. Personally I find this distasteful, not because they’re attacking but because they’re being deceptive about it, using a “white flag” as a rouse in order to get the drop.
To this end I suggest a alliance between Anvil Rock and GoM in the jumping puzzles: lets not attack each other, instead lets lets gank BP mercilessly, set up arrow carts at the entrance and use their bad manner tactics against them until BP start showing they have manners a whole when it comes to showing signs of peace.
We don’t want our enemies getting siege weapons through the JP, so we have a team that takes care of people there.

I can tell you right now we’re not ‘waving’ anyone through. If we’re there, there’s a good chance we’re more than willing to fight. And as for bad manners? This is WvW. I’m not sure why people need reminding of this, but it’s war. I don’t know how many times I’ve been ganked by GoM and Anvil while trying to collect Ori or simply trying to finish the puzzle. Not to mention camping spawn with arrow carts or the traps. I don’t get any leeway from you guys why should I give any?

Are you saying its okay to wave a sign of truce and then shoot whoever comes? You know who else did this? King Edward the 3rd and that earned him enemies everywhere he went.

You don’t get leeway because your server keeps pulling this crap. Now it’s a freight train of malcontent and genuine dislike.
When I see a BP name I think “dirty, underhanded, bad manner”.
When I see a AR name I think “honorable, knows etiquette”.
And I’m not the only person who thinks this given my conversations.

Also try to remember that not everyone from a server is the same. It’s cool if you dislike certain guilds etc, but you keep referring to servers like they are all one guild. That’s not true, each server has a variety of people on it. Each of those people has their own personality, and ideas.

To be honest I don’t think of all BP as what I’ve described. A few nights ago BP, AR and GoM were all in the puzzle waving each other through, showing each other the way through. Heck, at one point I saw a BP jumping a AR and I helped kill the BP while leaving the AR alone.
I know not all BP are “dishonorable” much like how not all GoM are hackers but I’ve noticed a reoccurring trend of BP doing this kind of stuff (the groups Ive seen aren’t even doing the puzzles, they’re just camping and ganking mid way through the puzzle) I’d wish they could be more like the good examples from BP and less like the stereotype so when I saw a BP on the battlefield I didn’t feel animosity and resentment towards them.
And ultimately I agree, the puzzles should be PvE, not WvW but we all know this isn’t going to happen.
I’m at the point where I want to see BP in tier 6 just so I don’t have to deal with the bm anymore.

Sorry you had such a bad experience. That isn’t from a bp player, it’s just another player that knows how frustrating it can be. I hope you finally got through the puzzle. If I could help you I would, just because I’ve been there. I’ve done it a few times, and I’ve seen it camped by the enemy. I think the reason for us ganking you is that in our home world anvil has 2 guilds sos and blitz ganking us daily. (they seem to have a schedule) SoS is fine since they actually WvW, but Blitz never help their allies in WvW and goes strait to puzzle to grief (They even raid the supply camp nearby to put a ballista on the jp chest). So when I enter the Jp SoS and Blitz is kill on sight. So its really the matter of who did it first. I’ve noticed recently GoM going aggro for some odd reason (War guild specifically). We are usually okay with each other and even gang kill anvils since we hate them equally on BP homeworld, but this new guild does the same thing you are describing.

Gave up to be honest, Anet had some bugs in there today.
At one point I had made it ontop of a platform (I was in the middle of it and the platform was huge), I randomly received 10k dmg and it teleported me off of the platform, then another time I got stuck in a area where my character couldn’t fit and another time I randomly received 1800 dmg every 5 seconds.
So I’ll do it in a few hours when BP will mostly be sleeping and when the bugs hopefully clear up.
@ Uncon, that’s lame. As part of the GoM alliance I haven’t seen any of us doing that stuff and as far as I can tell it’s not a legit tactic that we’ve ever discussed.
Us? No I think its just War guild gone rogue don’t worry unless its from war, blitz and sos I usually let them pass.
I doubt any server has control of any of their players. Then again this is what Anet wanted us to see each other, as enemies hence the anonamy ( okay i can’t spell it right) and having the jp in WvW in the first place.
Just sucks that these guilds make me… more cautious…
I would love to have 2 ppl from ya server and me and a friend ( 1 to revive the loser) just farm out those pesky battle tokens, but the big orange swords would alert every player of our position.
What about the people who could NOT CARE LESS for the siege. Some of us just need that one area to complete the map. Its NOT FAIR to us! I even have removed my armor and weapons as a signal that I am not out to kill. I just want the achievement.

I just want my Invader’s vest but the drop rate of badges is so low that even with MF I barely get any.
Eventually I’ll need another 500 for bolt but that’s a long ways off.

I usually have my alts (lvl 2 mind yas) go through the puzzle just to get average 25 per day, but its hard to kill gankers with only one skill and starting armor…(It’s hilarious tho when I win)

Yeah I’ve been doing the JP pretty much exclusively. As a S/P thief I’m best as a front line vanguard type of player which gets mitigated by the zerg mechanic so often times I’m reduced to roaming with 1-2 other players and ganking the living crap out of reinforcements heading back to the zerg.
It works pretty well with shadow step’s immobilize, pistol whip’s stun and haste doing some insane dps (if I do the combo right I’ll end up doing 12-20k dmg in 2 seconds to lvl 80s with full exotics).
Im an engi and its hilarious when ppl are on high places (like walls or bridges). One well placed mortar spray and it’s raining men lol. (also good for clearing choke points.)

Ya I think its best to single out guilds instead of servers maybe make a list of “Bandit guilds”
Tho I wouldn’t find it surprising if Anet blocks guild names from enemy servers in the future too.
btw Anvil SoS have a new tactic called suicide bombing where they have naked ppl use glitches and hacks to get into forts without doing a siege knowing full well of their eventual ban. (Maybe a former bot clan forced to do use normal ppl since the bot ban wave.)

I’ve heard of a guild that had set up 2 arrow carts and 2 ballistas in the JP, manned by 30 people from the same guild. I can’t remember if they were from Anvil Rock or Gates of Madness, not like it matters. Point is, others do it as well, but I believe the jumping puzzle should be a neutral zone since it’s hard to accomplish as it is.

O that was GoM, but its more like they were on a forced retreat from the supply camp south of it and were cornered.
Omg… PvP in WvW? I agree with you this is distasteful and should be punished, what would the overgrown grub think!!
I think you need to reread the OP because I clearly said the issue isn’t the PvP but the Trojan-kitten of using waves to allow others to pass and then gank them.
Maybe we should compile a list of the guilds who do this from each server (the ones who put siege weapons in there, the 30+ guildies who camp it and the ones who wave players through followed by ganking) so we are aware of who the baddies are and who to attack on sight no questions asked.
the only reason y cola did what they did last night cos all day they tryed doing the jp and all day they got killed by anvil rock so we fort if they want to do that to us we do it back to them now we never had a prob with gom till they started killing us then thats when we did the same back all poitn of wvw is to fight so we did i stop my guild from attacking gom alot of times till they did that and i am leader of cola we are friendly unless u attack us first if u dont we can get along so uncon u dont have to put a name for red list us

(I’m from BP)At first I accidently hit him with a sprint skill that did dmg, but retracted my weapon and we were okay with each other, but then a cola person after like 5 mins went all out on him even when he was backing off the entire time.
