Back to the same servers over and over.
I agree….but first they have to fix server population issues. I mean u being a T1 server and being randomly matched vs a Tover9000 server on which there’s a bigger moa population the player population in wvw ….would make it a 1 sided win in which both servers are bored after max the weekend reset when ppl invest a lot because of free time.
Right now the difference between T1 and any other T is so huge it’s almost comic. This actually applies to all tier differences not just T1.
But again i fully agree…i am bored as f*** of wvw.

The only tiers that have been locked into the same matchup three weeks in a row are tiers 1, 2, and 5. T1 should be locked, because any one of those 3 servers absolutely curbstomps the T2 servers. The problem with increasing the randomization is that an increased chance of, for example, a T5 server being placed in T6 would also increase its chance of being placed in T4 (24/7 curbstomping).
The real problem is that the Glicko rating is too sticky. Despite two of the servers in T5 having a very similar performance over the past 3 weeks, one of them will still have a substantially higher rating even after this week’s matchup. If the rating was more responsive, this server would now have a similar rating, and therefore a similar chance of being placed in T6. Instead, this server will still have a significantly lower chance of being placed in T6 than the other, as a carry over from the tournament.

If there’s any doubt of this, look at SoR getting stuck in matches with DB so so many times in the month before Season 2, which caused them to then get stuck at the bottom of Silver for the season (9 kitten weeks!) when they should rightly have been in Bronze.

The PPT system of capture and hold is a horrible system for this game mode. It favors coverage, blobing and leaves the ratings pretty stagnant. This needs to be revamped, WvW is stale now and really doesn’t cater to good fights at all.
They really need to go with the kill stomp (or completely remove stomping), successful event point system, where the only way to earn points are those things. Why they thought capture and hold was a good mechanic for 24/7 battle of massive scale was a good idea boggles my mind. We’d have a much different take on WvW with a point change. ANet really loves the capture and hold thing, for really no good reason.
