I was just curious as to what the average drop rate for badges are. I kill around 40 people last night over the course of 2 hours, I could do more killing in that time I know, but all I managed to get was 2 badges. Is that normal or is that just the RNG god laughing at me? I get 20-40 for doing the jump puzzles which take 20 minutes so getting 2 in 2 hours from PvPing seems kinda off.

If you’re moving you may not notice the bag appearing at your feet… sometimes we do a “bag run” and run back to pick up any that we missed. You might give that a try.

Badges really should just be automatically deposited in your inventory (actually all loot should, but badges are priority). During large sieges it’s hard enough to tell what is going on without also trying to find loot on the ground.

In my experience it’s highly dependent on kill contribution. In 1v1’s I’d say it’s as high as 50%. The more players around the less it is.

Running with a zerg I usually see between 5% to 10% and thats if you only count the kills that actually drop loot. Getting the stomp seems to help, but honestly with ALL the time I’ve put into WvW it seems to be prettykittenarbitrary.

I’ve got about 325 badges right now, and still can’t figure it out.

Most badges are lost while moving. Doing defence or sieges where you are more stationary they usually pop up like crazy around you.

That explains why more loot drops, but doesn’t explain the number of badges in the loot bags.

before you hit the diminishing returns it should be between 30-35% I would guess. That also includes the times where you get 2 to drop off someone. If you kill a lot of supply depot commanders you will see a better return, they always drop one.

The drop rate should start going up because I think there is something in place where if you kill some low level that is way below you you dont have a chance at one. So as more people level up the drop rate (hopefully) increases. That is speculation but I dont ever remember getting a badge off anyone with a green arrow next to their name. Usually I get spikes or some other grey trash off them.

I guess I just need to pay more attention. I do tend to do 1v1, or 1v# as I am 80 and several others aren’t yet. Makes it a bit easier to take em down, especially since I am in a support spec with defensive gear. Still, out of all the loot bags I did manage to check, I only got 2 badges. I’ll just chuck it up to RNG, sadly. Lol

I get most of mine through the supply depot commanders. Necro base dmg QQ QQ QQ!

That aside, sometimes when the enemy doesnt realize they are standing on my wells… I get bags with 2 badges =D

I don’t care about RNG as much as the fact that sometimes picking up my bags gets me killed =.=
