So, with the new items available via badges, I finally have a reason to care about badges/hour. While I am fortunate enough to be in a WvW guild, our strategic play often means I end up feeling as though I may have made a big contribution to the over all score, but not necessarially earned the maximum badges/hour I could have some other way. My question then is, what do you think is the best way to farm the most badges per hour just as someone showing up to WvW alone? Go to EB and follow the biggest zerg? Roaming? Etc. Looking for thoughts and opinions here (and it shouldn’t really cause anyone to give away secrets since badges aren’t a monitizeable currency in any real sense). While comments on class may be useful to some strats, not everyone has every 80. Though for the purposes of this post I have warrior and ele 80.

Run with the zerg.
Use your widest area AEs.

I used to get almost no badges with my staff guardian and now he’s probably my #1 source. I hear staff necros do really well too.

Good, this means you are already playing the game correctly.

Trying to grind out the most efficient way to farm anything ‘per hour’ will only result in one thing: burn out.

It is useful at times, though, like you’ve just brought a new character to 80 and need just a few more badges for your last couple pieces of exotic gear or to open up that first new ballista ability.

Playing watchman at the local fort may help your team, but it’ll take 10x longer to get the things you need to be competitive with.

Find a place you need to siege down such as a keep or tower, or find a place being zerged by the enemy that you can hit from afar with siege (if your server has teamspeak, listening to this helps). If you’re hitting one on a treb, the second the wall you’re hitting goes down, start spamming the cows, as that poison field will overflow the area nearby with bags. If it’s just a zerg you’re trying to defend something from, just spam the cows. That’s how I get most of my badges.

Nothing really to say, you have to be on a server that can kill 50-60 people at a time. You have to follow a guild around that can actually kill other large groups. If your server doesn’t have that, it is going to be a long road. Always try to tag the champ of a supply camp. He gives 2 over 50% of the time. If your server isn’t very good, it will be hard. You will have to cap camps and pick small fights. This is a lot slower. If you are on a decent server with one of those guilds that can kill, you can get 50-100 a night.
