I’m just wondering if anyone else has noticed this or if I’ve just had the most impossible bad luck with RNG.

I’ve just finished a good 4hr session in WvWvW and have probably looted close to 100 bags. I haven’t had one badge of honor drop, quiet a few of these have been 1v1 kills so i know that i’ve done enough damage to the players to warrant getting a badge, i’m also running a glasscannon build and throwing out huge AoE. I’ve had no problems with the bags dropping just getting no tokens.

This has only been since i downloaded the new update, 2days ago i had no problem getting tokens.

I will consistently open 30-50 bags without any badges. But I just looted a few earlier with badges…. so no, it’s not broken. The drop rate is just terrible/we have terrible luck.

I think it’s just luck, although my luck in wvw has been pretty poor lately too :\

I can’t relate to this at all. In my last 8 or so hours of play time, I’ve easily received 100 badges which I don’t see as too shabby at all. That said, I have had a ton of kills during this time so that’s probably higher than most can expect.

Ive had nights where I got 70, and others I got 5 for the same amount
played.

Ive played since day 1 of the game, and I can definitely tell you
some nights its bone dry, and others its OK. Sounds less like RNG to
me and more like some other broken system being used for drops.

In my experience you get way more badges when you use the finnishing moves then you do if you finnish people through damage. I have farmed well over 3k badges, most of which are on my theif which does more kills via finnishing moves then my necro which gets more kills through ranged damage through the downed state kills. I play my necro way more then the theif probably 75% more and it gets way less badges.

From what I heard, Necros are the worse at getting badges compared to
any other class because they rely on dots not burst (many times players
survive by cleasing them off).

I highly doubt planting the banner in someone gives you a better chance. I have tracked many different methods, including high magic find. There is no
definite pattern from night to night (and I have earned over 5k badges).

Meh – I just do the jumping puzzles. I don’t even bother to try and kill anyone. And I just destroy the siege weapon blueprints after I open the Mistwrought chest.

Does seem some people get better badge drops than others certainly some classes more than others. As a ranger i suggest a change to help even this out.

As a corpse i am vital to your badge collection after all with out a ranger doing a dirt nap there is no badge for you.
I feel however my essential contribution is under valued a new system that would reward both the vertical and the horizontal would be equitable and help populate WvW with more than ele’s and invisible thieves

Don’t have time to read through the whole thread right now, but I have almost 100 since reset on Friday, so they’re definitely still dropping.

Interesting thread. I have actually noticed a reduction as well. I figured it was because my team is getting a bit of a hammering this week, but Ive still been getting alot of kills.

So after i made this thread i went back into WvWvW and got about 27tokens from being in there for 2hrs. Not sure if logging out and logging back in or just rejoining the battle ground does anything but it just seems weird.

The only other conclusion i can come to is if you want something you have to complain about it on the forums for it to get fixed

There may be exceptions, but as a rule that last part is rarer than badge drops.
