Guild Wars 2

I play a heavy DPS Mesmer, and seem to be getting kills very quickly, but I don’t seem to be looting any badges. Maybe 2-4 an hour? I finished my WvW Monthly in the hour, so 50 kills yielded 4 badges.

The absolute only reason I want badges is to finish off my Legendary. I’m not a big PVPer, but I understand it’s part of the process. I feel like the dungeon gear badge system is pretty straight forward and rewards people appropriately. You can spend anywhere between 2-4 hours and come out with 180 badges. If you hate dungeons, at least you’re done in a few days of farming (and don’t have to endure the trolling of jumping puzzle jerks.)

I’m spending 2-4 hours in WvW and leaving with no more than 10 badges on any given day. Is there something I could be doing better in WvW to get badges faster? Any help is appreciated!

Jumping puzzles award 3-6 per day on the team designated battlegrounds and eternal battlegrounds offer approximately 10 badges. These can be completed within an hour if you do them fast without interruptions.

If you are willing, you can create 5 characters and do all 4 puzzles on each character, giving you about 20 badges per character. Since the badges are account bound, just put them in the bank and you have 100 badges in a day.

You can then transfer servers and double that number if you want to take it a step further.

Otherwise farming badges takes time and luck, run around with a small group taking supply camps and since you’re a heavy dps, you’ll have no problem getting 2 badges for every quartermaster. Kill all invaders along the way and just loot everything

Are you stomping, it may be my imagination but I always seem to get more loot bags in general stomping.

Supply camps can drop them too, going around with about 3 people will give you better odds too instead of zerging. You don’t have to look for 2 other people, you find each other roaming around that camp, if you see green around, tap the supply camp and let them know you want to try. They usually come right over.

Overall, yes, the drop rate is horrendously low. I can cite the two times I’m sure I’ve got the badges though.

are you sure you’re picking up all your badges? theres lots of times where i’m chasing people down, and have left a huge trail of loot bags on the ground, and have to run backwards to pick everything up.

i have just over 1500 badges after about 4k kills, if thats any indication of how often badges drop for me.

It was mentioned with the jumping puzzle. I was wondering if they are nerfed. I generally try to do the puzzles daily. Get 7 to 10 badges from the chest at level 80. I missed the last few days but the most I got today was 4 from the chests. Thats 4 puzzles on 2 toons both 80. So 8 chests.

I get a lot more badges on my mesmer than my warrior so it could be worse. if your in a zerg on mesmer stay still as you dps them down, and keep dps them in down state if you cant get the finisher. But yeah jumping puzzle

I am actually fairly certian I have missed more badges than I have picked up in my time WvW’ing. It’s just the way it is.

Unfortunately, seems like you have to group in order to rake in as many as possible.

badge rate for me averages about 4-5 kill per badge. got abit over 4k kills, 800-900ish badge, i use badges for seige wpn also so the badge count isnt exact.

Reason you are not getting many badges is drop rate for them is balanced around fact that Anet figures players will get loads of bags using AE. Mesmers have crap AE ability so they get less bags therefore less badges.
