ok i have now got my gift of battle after getting all 500 of em for it. so now plz can someone tell me what i use badges for now, i have full exotic kit and wep and full asended rings atc atc?

Buy siege, if you have no use for that siege donate it to a commander you know or respect.

Siege is about the only thing worth buying. I currently have about 2500 badges of honor sitting in my bank. Not really sure what to do with them because sitting next to those badges is about 100 siege items. Ive been trying to hand those off to commanders, but it seems they are accumulating quicker than I can get a commander to stop and take my supply.

Next best thing I can think of, but haven’t tried yet, is maybe buy the armor/weapons and throw them in the Mystic Toilet.

I really hope devs will come out with an efficient solution, so far Badges are pretty useless

Badges make it easy to try out a new build…weapons and armor, at least. 1/3 to 1/6 of the cost of equivalent gear from the TP, and zero percent of the headache of farming dungeon sets. However, the lack of Valkyrie via WvW makes me sad.

But yeah, other than that, not much else other than siege. I have almost 6k badges taking up space on an alt.

Id suggest you take another look at that. Seriously, if you put in buy offers, you will get the same gear for around the same price without expending those badges.

I’m torn on this. On one hand, there really, really needs to be better things to spend the badges on. No self-respecting level 80 would buy gear with it when the designs pale in comparison to the crafted/karma/dungeon/named options. And no level 70 would blow all their badges on gear they’ll replace in 10 levels. It’s frustrating that there’s really nothing to spend them on (other than siege and gift of battle). I WISH there was some fantastic PvP gear you could get with enough badges. Some interesting weapons or some awesome back piece or something. Or some buffs for your team perhaps. Or some ascended gear.

On the other hand, WvW could really suffer if the badges were coveted too. I fear players would stop holding points, running supply, etc and just grind badges for shinnies. I fear things would devolve into one big badge farm with PvE players flooding the battlegrounds looking to endlessly camp spawn or something. Or guilds from different servers striking deals and holding massive “you kill me, then I kill you for badges” fight clubs. What’s nice about WvW now is most people playing it are there because they love the game and they want to win.

I don’t understand; the gold cost for exotics in WvW is ~1g+100-200 badges. You can’t buy crafted 80 exotics on the TP for ~1g. At the minimum, you are going to get them for ~3g and that’s with a buy order (maybe as low as 2.5g for low demand items).

Also, with 6k badges, they have virtually no worth.

The new WvW armor/weapons make equipping a new char much easier for players who only WvW.

I payed about ~1.5-2k badges, 10g, 240k karma (Orr trinkets) for a full mesmer equipment (without sigils/runes/juwels ofc).

I had the same situation when i first got my gift of battle.But then i bought second gift of battle and then one more gift of battle for no reason…
Now w8ing to collect enough for 4th gift of battle.

I used mine to gear up all 6 of my 80’s and to get alternate sets for them to use with other builds. I buy siege now.
