Baruch Bay is the only Spanish server. Players that are new to the game and speak Spanish are unable to join their national server. I have played WvW for 3 years and can confirm that they are definitely not over-populated. They definitely need more players to compete with any high ranking server. They actually struggle with numbers, to be honest.

Baruch Bay needs to be open.

I could be mean and tell BB to “adept to your current situation and stop kittening crying over it” and to “depend more on the skills and not on the population” stuffs but no, I’m not going to say those here since I’ve been on a full server crisis before that, and I can somewhat relate to that.

All I can say is to try to endure for a few matches more, though I’m not entirely sure about the exact way on how population works. It might be available eventually but until then just try not to be too upset over it, and of course those who stayed through the “full server situation” deserves a load of cookie too!

You won’t stay full forever. When they do the next calculation, BB might open up. In the mean time, I’d slow down on the ppt.

Something smells fishy here, with the #8 and #10 server suddenly full. Baruch Bay never had that large of a force in WvW, the only reason I can think of for them to become classified as full is that there are more (yes literally more) people afk in spawn than there are players actually playing…
I also don’t understand how Gandara is supposed to be full. Maybe the algorithms need some tweaking so that they actually affect the servers with the highest population of active players (maybe Gandara and BB have many people that get into WvW once a week for just an hour?). In the meantime, I guess we’ll have to just accept this.

BB is just crushing Piken and JS…. This is not something that happen very often… I think that a lot of people from BB are playing actually in WvW… As I speak they have 450 PPT… JS 130 and Piken 120…. BB is probably full yes…. The bad thing is that BB is the only one spanish server, that’s a problem. But yes, there is plenty of people playing on BB actually…

Hmm good point. I didn’t really watch their current matchup, maybe things changed with HoT release. Which would be curious though, as it takes a pretty long time for a server’s population status to change when population dwindles.

Maybe ArenaNet can make another server Spanish? One of the lowest populated servers perhaps. They did make Riverside a German server just before releasing the game (I remember my guild suddenly had to change server to start on) so have shown that if need be they can change this. Big problem though is that however small, there will be an established community on each server already… don’t want to break that.

We are making those ticks because none is playing in the new frontiers, I’ve been there, we just fought “three” times in the whole week on those new maps, and with that middle tower destroying all doors, without anybody to defend, gives you the entire map every 3 hours with no more than 10-15 players, try it. So please, talk about the things you know, not just watching the scores. On this week that doesn’t mean anything because people are playing pve or doing events. We don’t have our regular players either.

Ok, I’m not even Spanish, but feel sorry for you guys. Come one Anet, where are new Spanish players supposed to play? It’s not like every server would have an acceptable population if only the “full” servers gave off some of their players to other servers. Just closing the bottom 12 servers at least would be a better solution.

A lot of ppl (including myself) don’t play that much now, due to hot and the pve time required to get the specializations. I have been playing in the new map and they are empty.

Like, how is BB full?! I see the same queues in bb-prime time (22-00). The same guilds raiding. Maybe there’s more south-Americans playing?

Gandara listed as full too? This system is a joke and a big problem for new players.

Not sure what you can do, when it’s part of your culture, coverage wars is not worth the time honestly, as long as get to play alongside your friends and guild during prime time or otherwise.

Notice to Piken, you beat Baruch, even though they night capped a few months ago, now you complain and aren’t organizing anything to counter them by day capping afaik. You don’t need just people pretending to care, and then just complain about night capping.

Even when I played at night vs them back in the day, they were playing later than everyone else, Guild groups and other zergs; with little to no opposition every single night, but they also had guilds like KaZ, DsD, siN, RNV etc, many of them moved to international servers actually.

I don’t know why Spanish community is always so displaced in every game. We don’t have voices in our lenguage, and we only have a server (now is full) when FR got 4 servers, 2 of them with low population. Can u open new server or reconfigure the “full” part for allowing more people to join?

Omg, poor spaniards, they only have one server dedicated to their nation. But you know what? There is not only Spain in Europe, there are dozens of nations and 90% of them having no server dedicated to them. So you know what? Get some english lessons and join any of the lower populated servers just like the rest of Europeans.

You know what else? Since we DO have a server dedicated to Spanish, it would be nice if it was open since it’s the only one! Why don’t you learn some other language and go hang out with foreign people if it’s that simple? Just to remind you, Spanish is one of the most spoken languages in the world. It is among the top 3 most spoken languages on Earth. Are you really comparing the Spanish language to any European language?

To make sure it would cater for mostly spanish speakers, it would be better to convert the current lowest populated server to a spanish server.

But of course even if anet listen and do this, the next “problem” will be “Oh this server is too low, not enough people, I wanna join BB”
