Before you leave your server,
Before you leave WvW,
Before you leave GW2 for another game,
You should ride an Edge of the Mist train once, and
You might like it.
I did.
Now
I don’t have wait in queue anymore.
I don’t have worry about the WvW scores while sleeping anymore.
I don’t have worry been ambushed by a thief anymore. In fact, I did not even see any thieves.
I don’t have to listen to TS anymore. Actually I liked couple of commanders I followed but they were not always on.
I don’t have wonder why our guild leaders disappeared.
I don’t have wonder if someone would tag up anymore.
I don’t have to play been outnumbered anymore.
I don’t have to face been camped at waypoint anymore.
I don’t have to be bored with +650 scores, and
I don’t have worry about rewards, badges, or loot, because
Following a tag in EoTM is like hitting one Champion after another in short intervals.
I liked it.

Well… You DO still have to worry about Thieves or being outnumbered at times, but yeah, I’d say EotM is a much better place for WvW newbies to go learn the basics. (The problem is that the rewards there are so good, they may not want to leave and graduate to “real” WvW.)
You do still get fights in EotM too, which I appreciate. It’s a nice change of pace sometimes from just beating up Champions in a zerg.
Eotm is not wvw…
I went to EOTM for 30 min today: people were running around in a circle avoiding every fights.
It was terrible to see such a nice map used only for a loot train.
Yes I did have some good fights in EOTM in the past, but lately all I’ve seen are karma trains.
Title should have been…
Dr. Champlove or: How I Learned to Stop WvW’ing and Love the Karma Train.
EoTM is NOT wvw !!!
BUt for newby whos intrested in wvw and is upscaled should go there to fast lvl up.
FSB rank 10k T E R R O R I S T WIN. (Just because the del my post saying that.)

i liked it too and most of players out there liked more than wvw , because of these reasons .
also. eotm is the most important reason that wvw became toxic environment for many servers .
00:00 GMT in our current macthup one enemy server with most of their players out of europe and from America ( Spanish language server ) had blobs in all maps while the other two servers had only 25+ players for all maps to defend what the daily forces upgraded .
ofc , that was impossible and all maps turned to one color ….

That’s just sad lol, btw I’m told you can champ train even in Pve… oh wait Eotm is also Pve XD
EotM would have had a better chance if the sides were permanent alliances with at least some sort of community aspect, and we didn’t get trolled with super-skyhammer map design. Completely divorcing the format from PvE gear and the PvE economy would have been good ideas too.
…but that didn’t happen. You know when it first came out, a lot of WvW guilds and new EotM guilds did try to make it competitive and fight oriented. It didn’t work out so well.
I tryed, and was awfull, placed a few AC’s with 2 other players, i guess the other guys didnt liked becouse we were being rude…
a pk map where player QQ about being killed…
a pk map where player QQ about being killed…
Killing is ok with most (bag-farming) as long as killing and being killed is a) fast b) balanced. Delay in farming is a no-go
Putting some AC into a tower/keep is like hanging a steak in front of their face and hitting them with a stick whenever they try to grab it. Try it, you will not be very happy as well, if this happens to you.
What is this puppy?!
Seriously, you are telling WvW players to go to the K-Train map?!

More than used to it on those AC’s suprize spam, also AC’s is a valid mechanic if a group is not prepared to face it, k-trains dye easilly… meh i guess i can deal with it
Actually the best bit of EoTM is watching 10-20 people ignore the fact that the enemy has shown up and is killing them while they continue to wail on the champ, and then moan about the commander when they are all dead without getting their precious champ bag.
But then most people just switch off and auto attack anyway, my favourite comment from an ele yesterday ‘why should I switch to water it does less damage’ after I explained that it might help people survive the battle…
And the rage quitters who quit when they get wiped, when the comm goes for a fight, or anything else that might interupt their champ farm.
In EotM you must fear the Necros because they fear you.
Since OG dominates EotM population, I make it my personal mission to seek out their zerg and fear them, mortar their siege, and drop burning oil on their rams.
Can’t tell if trolling or….

i like the skyhammer like map design actually, when i am bored i switch to my engi, go there, and pick+ throw off the slow ppl in enemy zergs, sometimes they all suddenly try chasing me, ‘throw elixir s’ for 5 s stealth, run opposite direction, get ooc, continue killing
its fun if u do that w friends, its a good laugh and a nice change of real wvw
one of my friends mains a necro, and fearwalling is great, also as engi or ele , etc u can get loot from fearwalling a zerg, u put a firewall on the fearwalll, it procs the burns, so loot + trolls~ for all! :o
Only in EoM is Mesmer more than Veil/Portal bot … bad influence from another thread.
The OP is exactly what is very wrong about EotM and exactly why it will kill WvW and having a “home server”. We are all Red Green Blue now.

etc.
..turn off the light and shut the door behind you.

I’ve played a lot of WvW. In fact, it’s just about all I’ve done since I started playing Guild Wars 2. I have a lot of server pride and I’ve spent the majority of my time in WvW scouting, roaming and doing what I can to strengthen our defenses and maintain a healthy PPT.
Unfortunately, a bit of drama arose between some friends and I on Jade Quarry so I moved to Desolation. I was indecisive about whether I would stay on Desolation permanently or whether I would eventually move back to Jade Quarry but this week has made the decision for me. I’m sorry if you haven’t always been this way Deso, but this week and most of what happened prior to it has been a total joke and I have no server pride because I haven’t been here long enough to develop one. So I will definitely be moving back to Jade Quarry..
This all adds up to EOTM though so this whole rant has relevance. After spending hours and hours upgrading towers, escorting yaks, scouting our territory and trying to defend against zergs of 50+ people by myself I gave the f_ck up because it seemed like I was the only one making an effort.. So as of late (the past 2 or 3 days) I’ve been spending my time in EOTM and actually really enjoying myself. It’s nice not having to sit in towers for hours doing basically nothing or roaming, flipping camps and killing dolyaks doing thankless jobs. EOTM isn’t “real” WvW and initially I was a bit ashamed of myself for enjoying it.. But I’m a WvW veteran and I’ve done more than enough to earn my place there. I think I’m allowed to zombie-train if I want to and I have to agree with OP.. There are no responsibilities, just fun and random conversations in map chat, lots of loot and karma, occasionally large scale ZvZ and there’s no harm in losing everything you own because the PPT doesn’t matter. So if WvW does die, EOTM is an enjoyable place to retire to. I accept that it’s just a ktrain but I also accept that the server I’m currently on has basically given up completely and I’m not going to try to rebuild their defenses when I have no identity here.
Id rather watch paint dry then sitting on a ktrain all the time, i hardly zerg in wvw anyway so far. Small scale/solo roam ftw. Where skills matter then just spamming 1 and maybe a 6 here and there.
OP sounds like he’s doing PvE. lol
Not going to lie, this sounds like a cult recruitment message. lol
Also I will say, occasionally hopping into EotM to Spectral Wall a zerg off the cliff is quite relaxing.
EotM is where my guild goes to farm t2-t4 mats for ascended crafting.
4 Warr, 4 Guard, 2 Necro, 3 Ele, 2 Mesmer vs 80 uplevels; Collect your bags and salvage for iron, linen, cotton, platinum, soft wood, hard wood… GG
It’s even better when you catch them at your keep because half of them are already singled from the keep lord.
So many people making the assumption that real wvw means you have to scout siege and upgrade, then concluding that eotm is better because it doesn’t have those. These are the different categories:
1. scouting sieging upgrading
2. karma training
3. avoiding fights
it’s possible to go after fights and not karma train or scout siege upgrade, there are fights guilds that play real wvw and do it all the time. Fights are the most fun part of wvw and if you avoid them you’re doing it wrong.
Why are EOTM related topics still in the WwW subforum?
@OP:
I know something you’ll like even more. PvE.
I also agree with the person above me. EotM is NOT a WvW map.
Change the wvw name to gvg name and keep eotm. No worry about server pride, just have your guild pride. The name is called “guild war” not server war. Players should really not care about where a guild is located in which server physically in the first place.
What a player does represents his/her guild image. And keeping you guild in good/bad/special/whatever image is really all the incentive you need to play if you don’t have other incentive. And all the sieges/tactics are the tools to help you do that. WvW maps should be renamed to gvg maps and you do your guild wars there. No more coverage issue and no lack of number (because lacking number means the guild didn’t put up effort to recruit people or it’s a failed guild people don’t like to rep).
they could nerf the loot and exp granted in eotm , might fix some stuff
EoTM in and of itself is meh, but the way it’s used is just what PvE types do in games.
It’s really gross that anyone considers EoTM to be part of WvW, as it is played now. It’s more disgusting than 2012 Eternal Battleground and zerging skritt or centaurs, combined.
It’s enjoyable, reasonably mindless leveling. As someone who is more or less 100% PVE nowadays I can appreciate EOTM in that it provides an opportunity to try something similar to WvWvW as a sort of introduction.
But, it’s not proper WvWvW. Not really.
Nice map, though.

not just a nice map, its an awesome designed map
just the xp rewards and overall rewards r too high.. sad the playerbase turned it into a pve map..
so many possibilitys gon to waste~
Before doing any of that… schedule a pug-grinder raid on EOTM for a saturday evening, sunday evening, etc.
What’s a pug grinder? It’s exactly what it sounds like.
Ferry your raiding guild into EOTM and go shred all the k-train blobs. They won’t be able to fight worth a kitten against your seasoned raiding guild. It will be easy. The loot will flow (bring merchants). The tears of the uplevels will fuel your ambition.
The last one of these I was on we had pushed one of the servers back to spawn to the point where they built siege on it.
Go Forth and bring back what EOTM was supposed to be! Good hunting!
