Now that free transfers are about to stop many players and guilds are looking around to decide whether their current server is where they want to stay, or whether they make a last minute dash for another server.

The WvW is different in different tiers and not every tier fits every players play-style and what a player wants out of WvW. You’ll have to figure that one out for yourself.

What I would like to point out is that many servers have server forum communities set up where players can socialize with other players on their server, schedule events, have private subforums for their guilds, and not be subject to the often widely varying application of the infraction system on the official forums.

Most players can agree that what matters most is the players you play the game with, the people you see/hear every night, and with whom you can laugh even if you just wiped. It’s the people with whom you share an affinity for the game that make you come back to the game time and again.

So before you transfer servers, you may want to take into consideration whether your destination server has an active forum community. There is an almost complete list of server forum sites on GW2Guru at:

http://www.guildwars2guru.com/news/966-community-server-websites/

You will also find that server forum activity doesn’t correlate with WvW success if you define that success by being Tier 1, or as close to it as possible. Forums do obviously attract PvE players as well.

Still, if community matters to you then it is worth to look for servers who have managed to organize their population into a server community. There are good communities at all tiers which should make it easy for you to find a place where you want to be.

Absolutely. That’s the difference between playing the game for 6 weeks vs 6 months or more.
