So, I’ve been thinking for a while, what is the best duo to roam together in WvW. They have to cover each other weaknesses, both offensively and defensively.

A profession like Ele or Ranger, that dont have many condi removal would apreciate a Guardian company. A profession with pure burst damage could pair up with one with more condi damge, and so on.

I may be talking crap because I’m inexperienced but you got the idea.

What do you guys think?

Ele doesn’t has many condition cleanse? Am I heard this wrong?
If you’re a ROAMING ele and you’re bad at condition cleanse, there must be something wrong with your build.

If you want to say you’re ppcrit fire ele so you’re bad at cleansing, why do you roam in the first place?

Mesmer/Ele/Warrior + thief

I don’t know about best but I’m a mesmer and I personally like to roam with another mesmer or a thief.

Guardian + Mes
Guardian + Engi

Hard to determine what the best duos are since the skill of roamers greatly very. It is the same with everyones specs. You can go high burst to take down camps before swords pop or make a dueling spec to kill other roamers. Just depends on your goal when roaming looking for fights or playing for objectives.

Mesmer + Thief
Guardian + Warrior
Engie + Engie
Necro + Anything but Ranger
Thief + Thief
Bunker d/d Ele + Thief
Zerk PU mes + Guard/Warrior or anything with CC and tankiness

Those are my favourites.

A engi+ele can be pretty devastating, requires a lot of skill though.

It matters a lot how u spec, a lot of classes have different roaming builds vs group builds.

But. Thief/theif.
Thief/Mesmer.
Guardian/ele.

Mesmer + anything

The mesmer alone makes the duo near invincible because if the other is focused by the enemy, the mesmer will completely devastate them with the clones/illusions. Aim for the mesmer, and they alone will wreck you while the other will kill you without problems. Face it, mesmers alone destroy everything 1v1, anything added to that is overkill.

Guard rangers have MAAAAAAAAAAASIVE group healing; anything with those.

Also power rangers with something that causes chaos, like a mobile nike warrior.

One of the most fun days I’ve ever had in WvW was with a level 17 mesmer who had owned the game for 3 days. He created so much chaos that my berserker sword ranger just racked up the kills left and right. We played together for like an hour or two, just ad hoc.

mesmer + thief wrecks face – no other duo combo should beat these two.

I say should, because a nub mesmer/thief combo is incredibly easy to take out with some CC

Any class could feasibly roam with any other class. You just have to get fairly mobile builds and communicate.

I like thief + warrior, mesmer + warrior, or ele + guardian. It mainly depends who I’m with on what my profession is but I tend to stick with warrior and guardian.

Guardian + Guardian
Run DPS gear and support traits and it’s pretty good.
