I have been playing all day and have seen some very weird stuff, for instance
While taking a supply camp, an ele comes in and kills everyone, 1 Ele vs 8 to 10 people of all character type. Now as far as I know a ele is pretty kitten squishy, light armor and this person defeats the 8 to 10 in around 3 to 5 minutes. Most eles I see cant stand very long against two to three, how is this possible. Any help would be appreciated.

That ele knows what it’s doing (well geared, smart skill usage and movement)
Those 8-10 people were probably upscaled, poorly geared, not paying attention or just plain bad

Ele is squishy, yes, but has the best sustain/healing of any class, so it’s quite hard to kill a well geared ele who knows what they’re doing

It’s quite possible to be a high dps ele without being the cliché glass cannon.

Skill, gear, and tactics contribute to a smart, custom spec.

If those 8 people were afk, then yes its possible.

Err… While taking a supply camp? You mean killing the NPCs?

Or are we talking about 1 ele killing 8-10 players?

The former is highly likely and common. Even upgraded camps can be soloed with some skill. The latter… not so much likely. In fact, pretty impossible unless they’re all level 1 upscales that are semi-afk.

IF the guards were on the Elementalists side, and even more likely if the supervisor had RI, and maybe if the other players were to busy with the guards and not paying attention.

The fact that they chose to engage 8-10 players suggests that they had RI on their side, and knew what they were doing.

was it a staff ele? I could see a bunch of people not paying attention and all getting 3-shot by a well placed meteor shower.

Also attacking a camp with a high dps build can be an advantage, because you can rally off of the guards. I have done that often with my mesmer, however the camp wasn’t defended then by 10 players^^

Lets make a few assumptions based on what the OP said:

The camp was fully upgraded, the ele was coming in at the beginning, the ele was skilled and the 8+ players taking the camp… sucked.
