Mmo players with a screw loose vs mmo players with two screws loose. All very important stuff.

I know the chances of this are very, very minimal, but……..
So many people here on the forums think that the big announcement on the 24th will concern an expansion to the game……
But wouldn’t it be cool if the 24th came and what they announced was a huge update to WvW? New, larger maps, more points to take and defend, some different rules and rewards, restructuring of the tiers, etc……
Or just that being included as part of the big announcement…….
Just a thought…..

From all the forum hype about the expansion, I find the is one way harder to believe.
It’s more likely that we all log in on the 24th with an ominous voice just saying ‘it was all a dream’ and that being the end of story content.
Am I the only one expecting this to be an overhyped living story chapter until they outright come out and say it’s an expansion.
I keep hoping for a pvp style rewards style for wvw. Would be great to get dungeon rewards for doing wvw. For those of us who prefer non scripted opponents and encounters. Although I must admit, a tequatl sized pve event in the wvw lake would interest me greatly. It would be awesome to have a massive creature to try to pry away from your enemies.
It wouldn’t have run as a pve stage clip if it was wvw related I don’t think….
I don’t think they would have a trademark on a living story chapter either…

Yea, I know. That’s why I said that I realize that the chances of wvw changes are very, very minimal
That said, their could be wvw changes which would explain the current lack of changes… I just think anet knows their customer base and sees more pve Or pvx than strictly wvw players….
All the hype is coming from the player base, snowballing from the desires…. I will be extremly suprised if this isnt just a hyped up ls addition.
While I do believe that there is an expansion incoming, I also believe it will be unconventional meaning it won’t be a traditional expansion.
I don’t think WvW will be a major part of whatever announcement they make; however, I do think it will be bigger than an update we’ve go so far.
Personally, I’d just be happy with dungeon rewards being available in WvW in one for or another. I personally have zero interest in stepping into a dungeon.
larger maps
Not this. Let’s hope for some wvw news tho ^^
Its most likely about some kind of an expansion, or xpac type addition to the game. There were CDI’s regarding guild raids, halls, and other things so there will definately be some new features coming. And who knows wvw might get some love. Here are some things I would like to see in wvw.
*Address Blobbing
*Changing how white swords work/appear. One person tapping a guard/gate should not be all thats necessary to keep something contested and its waypoint unusable for almost 3mins.
*Improving WXP Rank Skills and ability to reset.
*Adding Reward track for WvW like PvP has that would also offer unique items that are exclusive to wvw along with items such as wxp consumables, tomes of knowledge, ascended materials, exotic gear, transmutation charges etc. Essentially the same as pvp reward tracks just for wvw. And anything that rewards WXP (aside from consumables) or completing events in WvW would advance the track.
*Improving Drop rate and loot tables in WvW, seeing a chest drop and then finding out its only a kitten Spike or Barb piece of junk inside is just insulting.
*Addressing siege overuse/damage (particularily arrow carts)
*Borderlands redesign. 3 identical maps for over 2 years boooooring. Each map should have its own aesthetic theme, everything else would be the same terrain wise only the look would be different. This way there is no advantage for any server.
-Red can have fiery volcanic theme
-Blue can have icy thundra theme
-Green can have a Jungle theme
*Weekly color rotation. Each server should cycle colors each week, this would stop servers from being stuck with the same color for weeks at a time and frustrating all the players that are trying to map wvw for their world completion. I think this simple reasonable change would get rid of a lot of the complaints associated with wvw mapping as it usually comes from players having to wait weeks even months just to get that last poi or vista because their server doesnt change colors.
*Removing Invulnerability safe spots around edges.

You got an interesting idea with the rotating maps. Personally I just think the maps need to be different, idk how practical rotations would be, but I think most can agree that a purely aesthetic redesign would be very nice.
There is absolutely no evidence to support this made up expansion theory.
Everyone has to hype things up for pax.

No, are you?
You have some actually evidence of an expansion? I would love to see it.
getting rid of white swords.
getting rid of waypoints in keeps.
the return of Orbs/Relics
more WvW abilities.
2 New Classes
2 New Races.
Tomes of Knowledge for sale for Gems(not to costly tho…) Maybe 5 Tomes for 100 gems?
First rule of GW2: Have zero expectations – because you’ll probably be let down.
I’m not expecting an expansion at all. Based on the precursor hunt coming in 2013 (it’s 2 years late btw), and probably a few others announced that never happened and probably never will. I’m not counting my chickens.
This is the day we all have been waiting for! They’ll boost arrowcart damage to make up for the upcoming might nerf! Horray!
My guess:

I do not understand how “hype about an expansion” means there will be an expansion? Unless Anet them self has come out and said any thing of the likes then its just ppl working them self up base off of other ppl who could not know for sure.
I am not saying there is going to be no expansion but the lack of logic and to make that big of a leap is staggering when you think that pc ppl tend to be smarter then this.
1/13/2015 marks 1 year since I bought Gems. Here’s to another year of not holding my breath and buying Gems.
The only real surprise would be that this expansion would end up not containing any significant additions to WvW. They have been spending most of their time since launch on this expansion, with only a relatively small team working on updates for the live game (which have been mostly PvE focussed).
Wishful thinking would be the much-requested weekly map rotation system using PvE maps with WvW objectives on them.
