So constantly people claim ranger spirit “Muddy Terrain” is OP, Binding Roots is OP. I dont see it as a warrior who runs – condi gear/food. Even without it, if a melee class stays with the train (SOSO Hard ikr??) the train instagibs the roots, destroying them within a split second.

As for the spirit, again on warrior I dont get any uptime on your immobilize, but another class, doesnt the spirit die wayyyyyy before the main battle, much like pets because they just run in???

If not, I could see these being useful but again with the aoe cap at 5, binding roots wont take down a zerg, and can a ranger tell me aoe cap on spirit?

So….is this OP or not…and is it OP for non warriors only? Also any tips on getting out of binding roots if lets say your a lone necro caught by it?

Binding roots is op against necros and engineers that dont have rocket boots slotted. Nigh worthless otherwise if you ask me.

Its the same as throwing static fields or others stuff into organized groups while your mele train is running into them. If caught people dont use their cooldowns they will be hit by you while the rest of their group is already a few steps ahead.

But just watch one of the old weekly “gvg showdown” vids to understand it better. You ll have to live with the fact there though that no guild used one their spots for a ranger

No, I’m sorry you don’t like those abilities but if anything they need made stronger.

Warrior can get 90%+ -condition duration against immob, cripple, chill. Binding roots can be killed with like 3 auto attacks on a tanky build, and that’s if they don’t do one of their frequent bugs. Muddy terrain is an extremely useful utility, but to call it OP is to say static feild is too. Or earthshaker, or anything else that would impede movement.

Please, rangers aren’t in the best state atm, so try and refrain from saying anything we use is OP. Sure spirits were OP before the patch, but they nerfed them so hard that now they are useless. That’s not balance, that’s just removing one more viable build in a ranger’s already dwindling choices.

It is not what you do, but how and why you do it that counts.
