Guild Wars 2

Sooo Swiss style as I read up on it came across to me as each week the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places face each other. Though it came to my attention this could e way wrong xD

So I’m just looking for some clarification.

My view would be like, after this week the matches in silver would be as follows.
IoJ/SBI/HoD
FA/CD/NSP
BP/SoR/YB

Again just looking to see if it’s this way or based on points cause I feel I’ve completely misunderstood Swiss style now xD

It’s based on points. After week one, the winners all had 5 points, the second place had 3 points, and the losers all had 1 point. So the matchups based on points for week two were 5/5/5, 3/3/3, and 1/1/1, which seems to be the effect you were talking about. Next week it will be 10/8/8, 6/6/6, 4/4/2; not quite so even. After that there’s more uncertainty.

NA Silver should be (based on current scores):
HoD/FA/SBI
YB/NSP/IoJ
BP/CD/SoR

This will continue after each round, which means that the matchups are not predetermined but are dependent upon the results of the previous matchups. If two teams have the same number of points, the team with the higher world rating will be considered the higher seed for the purposes of the matchup. "

based on the current servers strength, and the number of weeks the tournament is held, we can conclude that the servers owning in the odd-week match up will get more points at the end of the tournament.
