Here is what we have put together to thank everyone who have fought hard for Blackgate.

I believe that is the case, we had a tight deadline, so there are quite a few great guilds and individuals who didnt have footage included. But nonetheless, your effort is recognised and appreciated. After all, this is a video to thank everyone

Woohoo, yes hats off to all those we fought and those allies that were with us! Great 7 weeks.

Can’t wait for the season 2 version, gonna be the most epic 7 minutes of warg zerging the world has ever seen.

Beautiful video that was really well executed, however being in a different tier, I have to ask: is it really that impressive that you won Gold? I think it would have been more remarkable if Blackgate had to overcome great odds to win, for instance coming 2nd place at least once. That being said, the video is really great! I hope some of your guilds consider moving to a server to teach others your tactics.

It is a massive achievement, given going into the leagues BG had been all but written off, regardless of how our opponents in SoR / JQ will say otherwise they had written us off as even a chance of winning the leagues, our Oceanic / SEA took a massive hit with TKG and half of MERC moving to JQ. Not to mention no new infusions of guilds going into the league while JQ received many.

Prior to the leagues we lost to both SoR and JQ by massive margins but the Seasons provided BG a cause to fight for, Blackgate rallied to the call and fought hard winning 7-0 undefeated champions of NA Season 1.

Blackgate is the biggest gaming community I have ever been a part of and I don’t think I’ve ever held pride like I do towards BG for any gaming community ever it’s great. The victory in the seasons despite a massive loss of key guilds shows the strength and willingness of guilds & the server to work together, play longer and win.

So in summary hell yeah it is an achievement and Beastgate lives on.

You can’t argue with their dedication. There were times when I was working on the merc achievement and would pass a fully upgraded tower with 2 scouts in it. Two scouts in a spawn tower when both enemy servers have maybe 5 people on the map combined, that’s dedication.

I want to thank those who we fought against. If there hadn’t been anyone on the field it would have been a very boring season.

I have to correct you on this, nothing personal. Please be reassured that I am not trolling you as I have respect for you.

I do not doubt that BG has really dedicated folks who are focused on winning and overcoming the odds but BG has had massively more wins over SOR rather than what you’ve stated. The numbers are in MOS. Do rework your statement if possible.

Also, prior to the leagues, your leadership mentioned that the reason why BG lost to JQ was due to the rest period before embarking full force on Season 1. If I may ask, was it due to resting or being the underdogs of T1?

No, we we’rent resting, it was the shock of losing two massive guilds, remember BG losing TKG + half of MERC meant that JQ gained TKG + MERC. We were destroyed in the Oceanic/SEA timezone due to needing a restructure which lead to guilds like Omen overextending themselves and burning themselves out. The “resting” comment is just something you say to save face, I’ve heard many a server say that before including your own.

What you saw in the leagues was NA, Oc, SEA, EU all rallying together we had often during seasons saw NA commanders up during SEA, EU etc. ICoa and KnT had people tagged up almost 24/7.

Noted. Thanks for clarifying that it was 2+ weeks before the leagues because some folks might believe the statement to be historically, ie since Jan/Feb2013 BG and SOR stepped into T1.

It was an honor working with you, Deemer and Charla Tan, along with the rest of Blackgate to create this.

Am I the only one seeing BG self patting themselves here? For the season, there’s always will be that little * next to it since it was a tarnished season. First we got a weird schedule for JQ, then we got BG/SOR/JQ very close in match 1 until ZD made the matches very unbalanced. It’s a numbers games and ZD basically tilt the scale too heavily to make any matches fair. I personally don’t think too highly of that guild anyways. They probably won’t win in fair matches that’s why they chose to stack onto a server with good Euro coverage. As for guilds moving prior to going into the leagues, there’s always that… You got many former JQ guilds in BG and or SOR. But the same could be said about BG, SOR or JQ in whatever ways you want to point it. TKG was formerly a JQ guild that went to BG then return. So no need to keep pointing that out.

if the matchups had been more even ZD may have transferred to JQ or to one of the other gold league servers but they were not, BG and SoR were matched up for the first 4 weeks and then BG faced JQ in week 5, to get the best fights which server would you chose to play on

Point well clarified and I respect those points… ZD was thinking Iron was a good opponent to fight against? SOR and Iron had a tough one going with their internal issues so when it was obvious they could not pull in the numbers to put up a fight, most would just give up. Heck, I am guilty of that myself. If I can’t find any decent to semi-decent fights, I’ll walk away. Decent fights meaning somewhat fair in which you don’t excessively zergblob another server or get zerglob by another server. In any case, gratz to you and BG for the win. Hopefully, in future whether we are in the same server or different server, we can have fairer matches where it goes down to the last day. I’m still guilty of considering going to a server where I feel it’s more overstacked… LOL.

Any win is built purely on coverage so no, except for the way they managed to harness their PvE population.

If you don’t like people talking crap about BG then it seems hypocritical to make statements about other servers of which you clearly have no idea.

WvW is in a sad state of affairs when 1 Euro is worth about 20 NA. Who remembers when Ruin left ET and dominated Euro ladder for a month because they had no competition. Its really pathetic that were all at whim of guilds that would rather PvD than fight against other players.

WvW is won by cowards.

Of course I remember RUIN. I remember them from ET when they can hold the entire EB just with their guild alone. That was the good ole’ days. No more of that. I felt that the players were more skill back then even though it was still coverage that wins the games.

Hello Peetee,

I am not sure if you were there in SOR’s SEA and EU. Prior IRON’s move to SOR, WM and militia were running 400-500ppt in EU time for a few weeks. After IRON moved over, SOR’s EU forces were galvanized and WM soon left EU and SEA prime.

For ZDs, it was unfortunate that IRON’s commander was hospitalized soon after. I wouldn’t blame ZDs for doing what they set to accomplish for the season.

Actually it just goes to show the overstacking by BG wasn’t just due to ZDs.

KnT is in the video. In the broader online space, we go by Knight Gaming. Unfortunately due to a typo it was listed as “Knights Gaming” heh. Ah well those things happen.

As far as HC goes, as said above, only guilds who submitted a video and guild information were included in the guild montage. Every guild, large and small played a part in the season though.
