Dear fellow GW2 WvW Players! Right now, Blackgate is looking for any transfers (NA/EU/Oceanic) to strengthen our Blackgate server. There is room for everyone to WvW. The worst queue time in EBG is around 10 minutes but the other borderlands have virtually no queue! We have an extremely solid community as well as proven, WvW experienced players to even PUGs. So if you’re looking for a 24/7 WvW challenge and a place that has virtually no WvW queue yet being very competitive in performance (won 9 weeks continuously in tier2 and now in tier1 -18/1/13), Blackgate is the place for you! -Now in Tier 1! After proving our dominance in T2 against SoR/IoJ/TC for 9 weeks consecutive, we’ve since moved on to Tier 1. We give each server a run for their money even though we are the new kids on the block. Do you enjoy being the underdog and showing up those who believe they are better? -Awesome coverage on Oceanic. With the recent transfer of MERC&ND, we’re able to compete with SoR and JQ’s during these times. You’ll find that there is always a challenge and fun to be had!

If you are in the top 2-3 tiers of the NA or EU bracket, you are probably a server with a lot of competitive guilds and players. This is a coverage war the same as every other RvR game ever made (see DAOC and Warhammer). You can have the most talented guilds in the world, but if they can only cover 2 maps, you can’t win at the highest levels of the bracket.

Blackgate has an incredible community and a core of dedicated and talented guilds. Until we are at the top of Tier 1, we need to keep improving and if you are looking for a server where you can directly impact our performance, look no further. We have a friendly, cohesive community that communicates with each other effectively and is quick to come to each other’s aid. You will learn more about WvW than you ever thought possible on Blackgate. Here at Blackgate, we only want players who are here for our community, great WvW, and calling Blackgate home. If you are expecting an easy win by transferring here, I can show you the door. This is not a stacked server, and you will not be jumping on the bandwagon. This is a call to arms for any that feel for our cause in their hearts and if you are coming here for Blackgate and nothing else, we will welcome you with open arms.

I’m a Jade Quarry commander and I’ve been watching you guys clime the ranks for several weeks. I remember some fantastic fights with you guys in the past and wish you the best of luck in your ascension to T1.

Blackgate has a dedicated core of players fueling their wvw machine and I’m sure anyone looking to help establish a server’s reputation as a T1 competitor won’t regret their decision to transfer to Blackgate.

Every servers post their server recruitment threads in WvW forum section. I dont see why we couldnt. Beside, we’re not going into their servers in game and try to recruit. There is nothing wrong posting BG recruitment post in any forum, every other server does the same.

Actually, your logic is flawed there. It is known that SoR’s NA presence is a force to be reckoned with, and you guys have held over 200+ PPT almost every time, even in our prime time, and over 500+ PPT in your prime time. Doesn’t that tell you something? If it doesn’t, please think again.

Also, haven’t seen SoS posting multiple threads recruiting for their server because they already had around-the-clock coverage to begin with in T1.

Sor NA force to be reckon with? how long was ur last meeting w SoS? i would say it was more than 9 weeks. Nobody know the exact WvW attendance now apart from anet. Last time BG was in tier1, before entering ppl said ohhhh stackgate dont go there, we re 2nd HoD? then we got our butt kicked by jq and sbi.

and 500-600 ppt in tier2 mean nothing compare to tier1.

Recruitment in forum isnt wrong here, so we will do it as much as we could to try best not to repeat our old mistake during sbi/jq time. We need all we can get.

Now Blackgate is in for tier1! Keep fighting people! And we still need all WvW guilds we can get

I have been on Blackgate since day one, hour one and the main reason for this, is that the server was always going to WvW oriented and lets face it. Hitting mobs, doing dungeons and roleplaying a bipedal cat is for knob ends.
You don’t want to be a knob end do you son?

No sir I’m not some kind of mob chew toy, creepy basement dweller or wear a fur suit!

Here on Blackgate, we hunt the other white meat, ‘Humans’, but we’re also not going to draw exception to killing the slow moving, foreign robots, people that think they’re great but really aren’t and of course, the just plain bad.
We kill kitten near everything that walks, crawls or is dumb enough to walk through the portal, the great thing about this time zone, is that there’s a lot to kill, kitten it I’ve killed more people being on Blackgate than AIDS, stupidity, inbred hillbillys and the national road toll combined. Every time I kick over a rock on this timezone there’s some ’ard case who crawls out from under it wanting a go, makes aiming really easy.

Since day one, I’m one guy, on a gimp necro, surrounded by evil and need someone to run supply to the superior arrow carts so the enemy can have some shade to fight in, die a lot and give me all their badges.
But if that doesn’t appeal to you, at least come and help convince the well meaning idiots I play with that the country we come from, isn’t near Germany.

If your serious about WvWvW then we could really use more capable bodies for all time slots for the war effort. No matter if you are a solo player lookin for fun fights or a hundred person organized guild. All we ask is that you like to do WvW. We have the means to communicate, we will support you, we will not degrade you, and we offer a great gaming community!

If you are seriously thinking about a possible transfer before you have to pay then think Blackgate!

I will advocate blackgate for any guilds looking for a competitive enviroment, blackgate fight hard and detirmined and with the new transfers Jade Quarry will be recieveing will be the true underdog of tier 1 so any guild looking for a nice solid server Blackgate should be for you. (unless your EU if you’re EU come to SoS =p)

If you are a part of a large guild looking to move. please consider keeping the game competitive. stacking on the top rated server may sound like fun but in the end things will be better for everyone if the matches are competitive.

with this in mind. if your guild is actually looking for a challenging pvp experience and a good time consider BG over the other T1 servers.

BG is really quite strong in this tier. It would not take much to ensure this tier remains competitive.

With SOS acquiring yet another fine guild in ND, PRX finally settling on JQ, Blackgate is in for some amazingly tough fights.

I’m creeping up to 80 very soon, possibly over this weekend.
Haven’t done any PvP yet, but I’ve done lots of PvP on other games. (DAoC, WoW, Rift etc)
I need a guild on Blackgate. I’ve joined 2 guilds just to leave because no one was talking or doing anything.

Blackgate is the only top standing server that withstand any bleeding result to transfer.. This is how strong and tight the community is.. We never give up even if the favor is against us.. JQ and SoS have gotten their transfers riding in to save the day. If you are looking for an incredible community, something that you can hang your hat on long after the era of free transfers has ended, choose Blackgate.

We are building something special here. JQ and SoS already have made their mark on World PvP. Blackgate’s guilds can be described as nothing short of loyalists. None of our guilds have any plans to move elsewhere. That is the stability that we are promising you. We love it here and we would ride this server all the way down to Tier 8 if that’s how it worked out, but this community is standing here and defying anything that others say about us.

Help Blackgate build something great. We have an incredible bunch of players and guilds here and the only thing we are missing between us and the top is filling some coverage holes. Moving to JQ and SoS has been done and done again; Blackgate isn’t stacked, nor is it a bandwagon server. The fighting spirit here is like none I have ever experienced and I truly think that anyone who makes this place their home would agree. We don’t need to have the biggest or strongest guilds here, just guilds and players who are willing and eager to learn and compete in an adverse, challenging environment. Moving to Blackgate means that our cause is something you really believe in. This is a place that you and your guild can be proud to call home.

The server very frequently goes to High and Very High. It is reset night so you are obviously seeing heightened activity. Just check back often and relaunch your client and it really shouldn’t take that long to get in. There are also times such as 9p-2a GMT +7 that our server is usually not displayed as full. If you need more help or if anyone else needs help because the server is “Full” please let us know. We can organize blackouts or keep you posted on server status to get you and your guild over

The server is full but there is a timegap around 9pm-3am GMT+7 that it usually very high especially on weekday.

Why pick BG? Why not, BG is still alive and kicking unlike EVERY other server who fell out of tier 1. Those other servers fell apart after leaving t1 (for whatever reasons) but BG hasn’t, we made it to tier 1 before, got our butts kicked too! But we didn’t fall apart, not the core of BG!

We kept going on, and we are back again and we are still here fighting! We haven’t given up even if we get our butts kicked and that earns a lot of respect. And our server for kitten sure isn’t falling apart even though we came in third last week! I think that says a lot about BG!

You guys need to do some recruiting on BG’s PvE community too… The server is full, so we problably won’t get as much transfers as we need… And BG have a big PvE community.

Any big WvW focussed oceanic guilds (or international guilds with a large oceanic timezone presence)? Other than Resonance and Opp → i’m sure they’re great, just reviewing options since transferring.

I recently transfered to Blackgate and I’m having a blast so far ! The community here is well organized and there’s always someone to fight and allies to team up with during NA time.

The server drops below full very often. The time windows when this most commonly happens are listed a few posts up.

Also, still looking for WvW focused guilds across all timezones (with particular emphasis on Oceanic and NA) who are interested in a strong, organized and skilled WvW experience. If you want a great community who doesn’t quit even in the face of adversity look no further than Blackgate.

One of the things I’m most proud of Blackgate is during SEA primetime. We have effective communication between our SEA guilds, even though their main language isn’t English, through the use of our server-wide teamspeak. Our response time to situations on the battlefield are insanely fast since we’re able to translate messages on-the-go through our VOIP. The only thing we’re missing is the number of dedicated WvW during this hour. We can get the messages across, but sometimes the guilds are too busy in their respective maps. This is where you come in, you can come in and be the guild that is the game-changer in these situations. Have your name honored and respected by the WvWers of this period and drive fear into your enemies.

Aside from our SEA guilds, guilds from other main timezones are, and will be, appreciated. The other timezones being Oceanic, American and European timezones. We respect each and every one of our guilds equally, regardless of when they came or where they are from. We work collaboratively with with other guilds and communicate to them via our Teamspeak. Need help on a borderland? No worries, call for help and another guild will come and aid you with the push of a button. We will back each other up as best as we can.

Communication between guilds is vital, and this is something that we at Blackgate are proud of.

I’m from SoS and I like BG, so don’t think one bad guy represents the entire server. In fact these guys took a lot of abuse from JQ and SBI back in the days, regrouped came back and fight hard. I don’t even like fighting against these guys, I choose to /wave and they /wave back… bunch of nice guys.
