Best thing to do as a mesmer is the wait until the animation is almost over and throw a feedback over the kill shot warrior. Since they’re glass it’s just so hilarious to see them drop themselves xD That being said, the only time kill shots have ever been an issue with me is if its a large ZvZ and with the combination of lag and particle effects it is hard to notice it…but I’m normally dodging enough that I miss it. I even rolled a warrior to try out doing kill shots, and it’s really not as effective as most people may think. I was only able to get off ~1/3rd of the killshots I initiated, and unless you’re full glass it’s probably not worth it (but I was only a lvl 7 warrior…so…)
Almost every class has skills that can hit for 10k+ in full zerker. Even mesmers if in full zerker can hit for that with mind wrack if traited. It only because an issue if they’re like traited in healing/toughness/vit gear and still hitting for 10k+, which they’re not.

Only 15k killshot? That is low, killshot can do much better than that.
15k? A killshot warrior in EB hit my Guardian for 18.7k. Was only on 2.7k toughness, but still.

Was fighting in the middle of 25-30 people… Got hit with a killshot doing around 18k damage. That kitten needs to get looked at…
And that’s a 1500 range attack. Yet people complain about a 7k backstab….

For those that are getting hit with large Kill Shot numbers, you probably had stacks of Vulnerability on you as well as the warrior having used their Signet.
A full zerker warrior won’t need any of that weakness to deal those amounts of damage. Kill shot has a damage coefficient of 3.25 while backstab has 2,4. One of them is a combo finisher, can pierce and has a range of 1500, the other one has 130 range and requires stealth to land.
Yes. Don’t stand still for the 2 seconds it takes to animate the shot. Its not like you could have dodged, hid, blocked, reflected, etc. or even moved out of range in that time….
right because there is no way that in WvW you would be looking at anything besides the warrior at range. No way he wasn’t standing behind an npc or other PC or anything. You should always know every attack that’s coming your way and dodge anything thrown at you.
I’m sorry kill shot is to much damage, eviscerate and back stab also got to hard. What I don’t get is why when shatter on mesmers would near one shot people it had to be nerfed but other telegraphed one shot abilities are allowed to stay. Show some consistence.
Exactly! With the size of groups facing each other in a lot of battles, the maneuvering & often lag, it can be impossible to know who or what is hitting you.
Kill shot warriors are pretty easy to focus down and kill in small fights. In big fights they don’t really make as much impact as other specs.
