I’ve said in the past you should get credit for refresing seige. Under the new system if it only added a miniscule amount of time (like 10 secs per seige item) to a low tier decay timer it would promote more people to hit the seige on their way out of a keep to whereever they’re headed and it would benefit those that already devote their time to this task like our scouts, so they could achieve T3 and then come back to do stuff like this. To prevent leeching of this activity they could even add in a stipulation that to get the miniscule extend the seige hasn’t been refreshed for atleast a minute.
Too many times in the last 2 days I’ve seen defensive seige not being refreshed, maybe because people don’t feel they have time or maybe because you get nothing for refreshing it but you do for building it..Either way, it’s a waste of supply either because a well positioned piece of seige expires because it wasnt refreshed or participation leeches use supply to build a troll piece of seige, but let’s be honest, in a dire moment, even a ram on the ewp location could come in handy. Either way, if you get credit for building it (whatever it is) you should kitten well get credit for refreshing it.

I’ll have to experiment with decay, ran for 2hrs with the guild last night and never noticed any decay timer.

I played for about 45 minutes yesterday maybe a little less and zero pips. Didn’t have time to figure a lot out but I noticed decay is a little too high…ok…much too high. How about keeping the “can’t switch maps” to get the out-numbed. That’s where most complaints came from.
The decay comes from the us who see someone take a couple camps and then ALT-TAB out and collect free pips. There kitten many ways to fix but also so many ways to bypass the fix so I think they went with the obvious gotta kill kitten to get rewards.
All in all I would agree that it hurts the roaming scouts who may periodically hit a few guards or camps to keep participation up until decay starts to diminish. What this decay does now is force people to blob and force those who roam, defend and scout to wishing there was another way.

I mean WvW is what you make of it. But most people play it to zerg.

people play for the rewards(mostly), zerg is just a gimick to stack the aoe spam and reduce the risk.
WvW could be a decent gamemode …. if had lesser aoe/cleave stacking or be more in team work and less in powercreep gimmicks where some offer a low effort gameplay due pve being mandatory on how classes work, the game should be making players need to know what they need to atack beisdes 111111cleave spam aoe skill, back to 111111 cleave spam, but that would be against with the ideal this game was built on.
no wonder the pvp gamemodes already failed… for me it failed on the 1st year when i noticed how crappy ANet would be maintaining the game… sadly it actually happened…

In “zerker only tiers” the zerg that pushes first wins & the enemy gets rekt in 5 seconds :-) Thats easy participation and that could be how they actually evaluated the decay rates.
Roamers & players during offpeak hours!? Outrageous! They should lock all wvw maps during non primetime hours. (sarcasm)

Hah. I love those zerg types because of the way they fill up my inventory. Judging by the lowest common denominator isn’t a great way to go about WvW though.
I have had really no issues roaming since the changes! I am a DH that is built for group comp, and not roaming. Yet I have had little to no issues. Yes occasionally I get killed and such. But as far as getting to an objective, I have had really no issues.
Yeah I haven’t seen any difference as a roamer. Its easy to get to tier3 participation within 10 minutes on any of my roaming characters, and maintaining/increasing the bar is even easier…I don’t think the people making these threads actually roam.
Please stop using us in attempt to reinforce your arguments.

Been playing all week solo and it’s been taking about 45 mins to an hour to get to T6, even while breaking all the rules of wvw (like killing everything that isn’t RI bound). Ran with a squad of 10 last night, after 5 -10 mins and 1 fight I was up to T6…
