- No Fun at all… I fail to see ANet’s logics. I really do…I’ll guess i have to PvE the crap out of the game and start searching for a Mass PvP oriented game. For me this game crossed that barrier.

Underwater Operations – [WET]
Part of the problem here is we have some idiot at Anet that wants to turn WvW into some online arena fight (what many of us WvW DONT WANT). Leave that to there stupid Tpvp and Spvp. Many of us that do not appreciate capture the flag crap stayed out of the arena play for that very reason. Bringing that into WvW just encourages those of us that dont like that style of play to go to EB. Ah.. yes.. so we wanted NEW maps for BL’s (individual different ones.. giving different tactics for each one)… but instead you take away part of that diversity (the water), and put in some stupid capture and hold points that no one is going to want to sit on for half a day anyway. So we go from 2 viable maps, to 1. So welcome to EB cue’s folks.. cus thats where all of us WvW’ers are going to be <yawn> … god that map gets boring fast. No one is going to play in the BL’s unless they are masochists.
Looks like the solution is to build trebs in the keeps and 1 or 2 stay there to treb the ruin. Time to lvl up treb mastery. Looks like they only care about spvp ¬¬.
What have they done for spvp? This patch was for you guys. Sure they failed, but still they give you much more attention.

this patch is an attempt to get all GvG guild to leave WvW and make a new home in Spvp. Sadly Spvp will never fit with the GVG guilds.You sound like one of those conspiracy nuts.
It’s not just for ‘GvG’, anyone not in Tier 1 will hate this, I suppose Tier 1 is the majority though, so let’s screw over anyone and everyone below them, anyone in a lower tier server, so they wake up in the morning with the map dazzlingly night capped, and every enemy with +150 to all stats. Let’s screw over the solo roamers, the party roamers, the guild groups, all over WvW. Because now the only WvW is zerging, out of the group = taken out by numbers not just because numbers but because numbers with +150 stats.

I’m guessing that they want to encourage and strengthen intra-server teamwork, seeing as roamers, duelers does not add value to the notion of inter-server war. It is war that they want to bring into perspectives, not so called guerrilla groups, who roam in their own self-interest.
Probably also another way of saying, if you want to duel, or PVP, make use of the Mists.
I didnt work myself to lvl 80 and run the same dungeon over and over to look the way I wanted to, only to join the mists and look like a lvl 1 character. So no.
This is not true, in tier 4 EU, we, AG hold 3 orbs against AM who have 70k more points than we have. Even though this patch is not the best, it makes it very clear that the server with the highest points often have the lowest individual skill.

A server with a massive number advantage now also gains a massive stat advantage and even more points?
I mean SFR was ticking at +1500 ~ +2000 points per 15 minutes.
I couldn’t care less about GvG after watching one of such a match up.
It is just another term for organized Zerg vs. Zerg.
It was a massive cluster of players, and even when you saw someone screw up, it didn’t really matter, because he is just such a small fraction of the whole team.
There had to be a massive number of screw ups in a short duration by the whole team.
Not really skill based, and not really interesting.
But the buff was meant to enchance the WvW portion of the game, but instead WvW just became worse.

Everyone IN T1 hates it too…. not sure why you think otherwise.
I think this update is the best update for any roamer (solo or small man) since the dawn of gw2. While I wish there were more hidden passages and whatnot, the terrain is more interesting than anything else in wvw (besides the JP).
My only gripe is that the cannons should be nerfed, or completely removed. They’re absurd. Just like how siege was removed from the jumping puzzle to encourage skirmishing, it has no place near these capture points.
If the cannons aren’t removed, they should at least have a minimum distance on them so I don’t lose half my health, am chilled, and have 5 stacks of bleeding by the time I’ve completed the mini-jump puzzle up to the cannon location.
A few people argued with me this would split up zergs/blobs……..lmao

every time you see player with less than 1500HP, you will know, he would be dead if everything was like before patch

So basically what you’re saying is, WvW is not meant for PvP, it is only meant for PvD and dat PPT, running along at 4fps in 40+ numbers so that the big meanies on the other team can’t hurt you and make you cry?

Buff here, buff there. Everytime buff flips we get insane skill lag for a few seconds.
FPS lower than ever at ruins without enemies on the screen.
Ram mastery buggy as hell.
Sad day….. a lake replaced with a sPVP map… if I wanted to play sPVP I would be doing that…..not a fan of having it forced upon us.
Bloodlust buffing the dominat server of the week! Not sure how that ever sounded like a good idea….after all the dominant server usually has the numbers advantage……which will almost always mean they will have the buff.
This is an Epic Fail ANet, just buff outmanned with bloodlust and be done with it. Just gives the larger servers MOAR. Not sure what the intent was with this BS. First 12 team Leagues instead of 4 leagues of 6, seriously will kill of alot of servers and really what is fun about Blobbing and mass rezzing? Huge problem with this update and so much for ninja attempts on garrison using underwater hiding spots. Great Job guys!

The capture point locations are too close to each other; Dev should have replaced the krait, centaur and spiders instead, so zerg and blob would need to travel far to get them.

Please explain how fighting and roaming in the ruins is more fun after these changes. I will understand your answer if you are playing on a server, which is leading the match up and has 2 or 3 of the bloodlust buffs.
The side with superior numbers have +150 buff to all their stats, plus +1 to +10% buff to their vitality and healing power via Power of the Mists and much more players all over the map. These are really balance breaking buffs considering small scale and solo roaming. I am mostly a solo roamer, but after seeing how bad this is, I think I will just call it /quit.
A lot of players do not like spvp/tpvp, because it is mostly about capturing and contesting the points. Now the 5 BL bloodlust ruins points are pretty much the same. Instead of having more versatility (underwater combat), we got more of the same.

Don’t Panic Just Yet, remember there are consumable buffs and once a player is downed im sure they lose their stacks which is only +50 to a stat. Average player downs 10 people and has a slight buff. It’s only going to make it so if you are trying to take a point on the map that you can make a push with fewer people.
Although this doesn’t make up for unbalanced teams. From Reading they also did not mention a cap on the buff itself .. which should be no more than +200 ? i really hope there is such a cap .. otherwise a group holding and taking out players all day would be pretty unstoppable and make game play very boring once someone had a strong foot hold in the area – needing double the players per usual attempt at things …
this does offer more reward for team play – encouraging player to stick together —- but i do agree this would be very bad if there was no other mechanic than just a straight build up…
if they are stacking this with the Sigils that increase stats as well per kill or other similar effects……
there should definitely be a cap on the stacks or a Timer for how long the effect lasts in combat before a recharge on the duration of it

After 5 minutes of WvW, the strongest server on our matchup (Gunnar) has already the superior points bonus (+150). Our zerg is being farmed in the Bloodlust and nobody cares anymore about towers and keep which are way more important, please, this is not helping at all, it’s only increasing people who wants to change server to play a good WvW

The ruins have great art design!
My solution: Highest score server can capture points but doesnt get stat bonus. half bonus for second place and full for third. Do it anet do it.
Edit: This way first place can negate a buff to their opponentsand keep them from catching but it doesnt add more pressure to the losing servers, while giving the other servers a fighting chance to catch up.

As I mentioned yesterday…. these types of changes really will prove a point. There is a huge disconnect between the dev team and the forum users. Very soon, we will find out which one knows what they are talking about, and which needs to learn to listen.
This was the worst patch ever. They could fix it changing all the ruins to 1 or 2 supply camps. Maybe 1 tower and 2 supply camps. Or go back to the old lake.
The only i save of Bloodlust is the scenery.

I have never been a part of any GvG event, but the one I saw on the stream was pretty amazing. The planning and preparation they did (team composition, tactics, etc) was incredible, their coordination and teamwork was impressive, and their leader made very fast decisions on the fly to react to what the other team was doing. It far surpassed the performance of any any zerg I ever saw in WvW and I can quite easily understand the appeal of such battles in comparison to the brain dead action that ANet has turned the rest of WvW into.
Personally, I would prefer that WvW had been the large-scale, terrain dependent, strategy-based team activity it was claimed to be, but I can fully understand why GvG emerged in its wake. As you say, of course, it doesn’t much matter since bloodlust pretty much trashes both.

the terain is fun to put an ambush, you can have 5 man parties taking these nodes and often in tc, we’d fight db and fa other 5 man teams. so it’s a small team vs small team.
and killing each other is awesome, finally being rewarded for open ground pk.
and even if the enemy has or has no blood lust buff, they can still be killed or kill us.
and because of the power nodes, the enemy is sure to return especially if it is their home bl.
so far this is what has been happening.
and unfortunately if you guys haven’t noticed since the beginning of wvw, it has always been about capturing land, towers, keeps – if you talk to that npc guy.
openfield fighting came about because we fight other teams out there. pretty much fun.

I’m actually stuck at work now but that’s something I would just expect from Anet. I still watch all the vista mini movies just to take in all the design efforts. This really is a gorgeous game.

As per usual anet did not think this through, the reason why they removed the orbs in the first place was because it was unfair to the losing servers!
I think the added areas to the map are great and who knows it may discourage blobs slightly less, but instead of giving the wining server an unneeded buff why didn’t anet just give the winning server temporary points to spend on our ranks and or give the buffs to the guards.
Because as of now the strong have only become stronger!

I get that you are playing for TC, which is – surprise surprise – leading the match up against FA and DB by a large margin. No surprise that the players on the winning side are having “fun”. Talk about power creep.
I am not at all surprised that majority of the players, who like the new changes are playing on a server, which is A) leading the match up and has bloodlust buff on them.
I have had countless of small scale fights before this patch (note I am 90% solo roamer in WvWvW). And they were more fun. Now the fun is gone.

Single most kittened patch I’ve seen, I had hope for anet, they communicate on the forums, do what people ask etc (for pve carebears)… but this… now wvw is pretty much killed.
GvG is gone and when we wipe a guild with 3 stacks of bloodlust it doesnt feel good, feels pathetic, when you get run over by a 40 man guild blob with 3 stacks of bloodlust you just wanna close the game down because you have absolutely no chance.
I challenge any dev who thought this was a good idea to explain why add stat boosts to the buff. When people asked if this buff could be toggled on or off devon gave us the most idiotc nonsense answer I’ve seen, ever. They must be deluded to think this has a good impact on wvw.

So, pretty much this is what t1 looks like right now…
I would have liked the update if it worked as intended which imo was to have small havoc groups, in addition to just camp flipping, be able to control and skirmish over these areas. The new terrain is meant for small group skirmishing that seems pretty apparent compared to the open field areas meant for zerg on zerg battles. Instead, we are going to have groups of 30+ running just in the ruins while roamers will have even less of an impact than they did before.
Hopefully things will die down within the first week, but who knows.

Unfortunately for you, we’ve been leading against DB and FA prior to the patch. And surprisingly, DB is really putting up a good fight better than prior to the patch.
It’s really up to you to define what fun is. And if you find the current setup not fun, then it says something doesn’kitten

as someone who has been arguing against the bloodlust buff since they announced it i leave everyone with this… Seriously it was a terrible idea for the stat buff, everyone said they didn’t want it, we all knew the predictions, and yet here we are exactly what everyone predicted.
