At the beginning I would like to highlight, that I’m not an expert on WvWvW, and I’m not active player of this mode. So my idea might not be good, but who knows.
I prefer more balanced games, and those which can be more predictable. RolePlay, PvP and sometimes PvE is enough for me, but hey, im sure, that if WvW would be done better – then I would play it too. And who knows? Maybe more, and more players would?
Let’s start with what is really WvWvW?
Its huge battle, isnt it? The concept is great, and I’m sure everyone will agree.
But IMO its Zerg War.
When I think it should be huge war – ofc! Where u can use ur PvE stuff etc – ofc!
But hey, why dont do it more like a Tactic Wars? And balanced with people? Dont let them everyone go to the 1 place and zerg, zerg, zerg with a big group of people. Of course we can encourage to run in small groups. But hey! When people CAN run in zergs, then they’ll probably do it alwas. IMO the best solution would be to simply block it. So many of people go to WvWvW just to zerg and farm :/ Its weird, when a team of 5 players is smashed by 50 of people – but no. Not on the castle or something, but in the camp ;_; Cause They can do it, so why dont?
Any No-Hardcore-WvWvW guild, who just want to play some wars can take 10/15 people, and want to play on WvW, so they will go on any tower, and its often, that they dont find any opponent, they will just take over half of border (meeting individual enemies), which isnt that cool to do, and then 100 of people will come and smash everything :P Of course, it is sometimes possible to create a good battle, but this is roulette. You never know who you will meet :/
Another problem is that – OK, its huge server wars but hey – servers imo gets points for nothing. Just take towers, camps, keeps etc and let them stay while people dont play WvWvW, and hey! U’ve got so many points!

Now let’s move to the idea of ??change. I think it could improve the entire game, but I could be wrong. Just think about it.
Why there’s only 3 borders? Ofc its ok, that there’s 3 main borders, but why dont divide it on the smaller borders too? e.g.

etc, etc
Hostile border

#2

etc, etc

And give a clear information, that which small part of border is made for what.
E.g. #1, #2, #3 etc can be fights for a camps, and towers. There would join e.g. +-20 people each server (not more), and fight in a balanced teams. You will not find that 50 is attacking 5…
Same with keeps. U could choose a border with keeps, camps, towers, and there allow 25/30 +- people to join.
And castles: +- 50 people.
People could choose which war they want, and they would see what number of players is on the border. I mean players from their server, and 2 hostile too.
E.g. fights for towers, when can join +-20 people, and u can see theres only 15, so people will probably join there to help. And they’ve got a clearly defined team.
Ofc some people would be typical leavers, ye? Just give them a penalty. 15/30min without being able to connect to the next war.
Guilds can just go to the empty borders, and let every guild player join.
Guild is big? Ok, they’ll join borders to fight for castles.
Small guild? They’ve got keep borders or just towers.
Ofc small guilds can just join on castle battles, and some randoms will join too, and hey, they’ve got it
But it would be important to give any waiting time, to let hostile servers collect enough people. It would be strange, to give people earn points when on the map is not a certain amount of enemies.
And what with borders that are empty? Just nothing. Every server would gain a points just there, where people fights. Empty servers would be inactive when it comes to scoring points.

This is my suggestion. I know it would change the entire look of WvWvW.
But maybe it is worth?
Decide themselves!
