Now seems others are doing it the same exact way he was doing it. In my eyes its an exploit and although you can’t capture Citadel like the chat states, they can destroy golems stored there. They deserve a ban. Once they learn the other exploits whats to stop them from actually getting into objectives and capture them.
Anet has fixed the ground in QL so I don’t see why they can not fix the ground at these areas that these players are using to exploit into things.

On Thursday, after the match is decided, they should open up the Citadel for invasion. If you can get past the Legendary Defenders and kill all the NPC’s in the main central courtyard then everyone participating gets a sweet drop.

Nope not saying that at all but 2 days ago someone posted about it and here we are today someone posting about it
They are bored and what they are doing is harmless. The Legendary Defenders would tagged them if they got near to anything.
Harmless maybe but its still considered an exploit.. should be banned.
What happens when they get bored next time and start to exploit into objectives? Seen it happen to a guild that was leaving our server. Before they left they got caught by several servers, myself included, exploiting into objectives only to leave and probably do the same thing on another server. They even bragged about it in map chat “PUGS be mad” and “learn2glitch”
Oh they actually fixed the NPC part? Well, talk about band-aids.

Which things were prevented from being killed then? Or was that change reverted? Because I know a patch was done to prevent npc’s from being killed, a bit before they blocked off the lower left and lower right corners of the borderland for players to get into them just by stealthing and walking in (since it repels you back). It wasn’t too long after an incident where someone killed every npc merchant we had on a borderland repeatedly. And I haven’t seen this done since, so if some can still be killed, then indeed that would be another issue.
Well, it would be very strange to just fix the NPCs since they can’t be attacked by anything that legitimately is in that area, so either they would be working with the assumption that it’s okay to enter your enemy spawn or they don’t know/want to fix it. Neither is particularly desirable.
I mean again, it’s not the biggest thing in the world, but it’s just that this thing has been around for way longer than it really should. I mean, imagine if you could kill the NPCs in Lion’s Arch. (Well, actually, I’d definitely have a go at a few of them)

Yeah from a prioritization of problems in WvW I consider this not even worth the dev teams attention.
But that is me.
I mean if the enemy wanted to kill golems, alt accounts running them off cliffs is far easier than this. (Of which there really is no plausible way to keep it from happening other than guild based siege and only people from your guild can use them which then limits reuse of them. Unless you have a community guild that the membership is monitored or some type of guild association thing where it says “these guilds are our frands”. Which this would actually help in enemy building rams in your keeps to get rid of supply on alt accounts, by not allowing supply but to the association. It would also create a ton of blacklisting and drama on servers though)
This is just a bored challenge on the part of some BP players, we would have random challenges on other servers/guilds Ive been on getting in enemy spawns on our BL’s in the past. Nothing you can really do there but get in.

Are you going to elaborate on how it was done or you just going to keep it a mystery because it’s easier that way for you?
Here are two vids that I could find, the first is a guild running to the citadel and getting wiped by the defenders, and the other is an asura making it in and avoiding the defenders by going to crafting area, my map shows there aren’t any defenders in that area so the worst they can do is kill the merchants located there. Since you’re giving anecdotal evidence from a year ago without any proof I’m going to use a vid from the BWE. Prove me wrong if you can but so far I haven’t seen anyone run into the center of an enemy citadel and survive. I would check this myself but I’m terrible at making the jump to get into the citadel.
The difficulty of killing golems is a red herring. It doesn’t matter how easy an exploit is to do, and it doesn’t matter, because I do clearly remember our golems being destroyed.
Yes, it wouldn’t be more desirable if said fix would take more time away from more valuable issues, but there is no indication that doing all of this is mutually exclusive or even the same people are working on this so called “trivial” issue or “important” issue.

Well I have to say all these people calling for bans is rather interesting. I would think a fix is in order not a ban. Add roaming legendary defenders in citadel, problem solved if its that big of a problem.
They can add roaming guards around camps and objectives, they can do the same in citadel, but in all honesty they might just be still working on the new borderlands and a completely new citadel altogether. Maybe they will fix this when they take it out so on reintroduction at a later date its not a problem.
Because perhaps I don’t want to tell people how to do it? Or maybe that I don’t know if that method was fixed or not? I’m saying it was done and it may still be possible. Regardless, people can get in, and potentially could break golems. Whether they still can or not isn’t the point though. Being able to get into the defending citadel shouldn’t be possible, but it is kinda silly to see and do.
Well I got lucky, anyways this is the furthest I could make it, 1 hit took me to downed state and another double downed me. I’m not saying this shouldn’t be fixed but asking for a ban and acting like the people in OP’s screenshots are scumbags is overeacting.
Everyone with a kneejerk reaction comes to the forums, when HoM bugged out and creating a new character gave you free AP the people who played GW1 started demanding for a rollback over a bunch of AP in the bugs subforum. The same is happening here, people blow things way out of proportion.

Good job admitting that this is an actually exploit. Funny how 5 hours ago you posted a video on how to do this and it took you 1 hour to actually figure it out and get inside. Ban please. Not only ban for admitting to exploiting the game but also sharing how to do it with the 1000+ that read this thread.

ummm I didn’t follow the video at all, the jumping spot is pretty well known if you play WvW, and I’m pretty sure the spots in the video have been fixed so I used the spot shown in OP’s screenshot which everyone already knows about. Anyone who made into high school can figure out how to make the jump just by looking at those pics. And I never said I didn’t know how to get into the citadel, I said I suck at making the jump… seriously reread my comments again.

I quoted you above and did read your posts.. No need to re-quote it again. Well if you read the rules and understood them, well you would know that you shouldn’t be using game exploits and instead you should report them.. I put those in bold just for you. Maybe you missed that in my post just like you missed it in the rules that clearly states “do not use them yourself”

This is the same argument as: “We know the security is lack luster. And he stole a lolly pop from the shop the other day. So he knows how stealing works. Even if you mass invis, right up to the golem, you’ll only have a second to attack it before you die, meaning you would have to come back 50-100 times with your zerg to kill a golem defended by a legendary defender.

I’m not gonna quote you and compare real life to this game, but I will try and give you my logical view on this. The player who posted those pictures wasn’t using the exploit for ill means or doing any enemy players any harm. He was proving the point that, while it is an exploit, it is rather benign on the list of glitches that need potential fixing. Honestly, the problem is if Anet bans players who find glitches and and report them with evidence like he did, then nobody will ever want to report glitches that are exploitable that they discover. If that player gets a suspension for using the citadel glitch, then the next time I, or another player, discover an even more exploitable and game breaking glitch, we would be much less likely to report it in fear of being banned.
Instead of responding so passionately, sit back and approach this issue with some logic first, and realize that your fellow players posting here aren’t necessarily your enemy and that they care just as much about the state of the game than you do. They just don’t happen to share your opinion that this particular glitch is so much worse than other issues in the game that it requires immediate attention.

Except you can destroy golems even in the middle of those defenders. All it takes is a little time without people coming in and catching you. Just stand around in your own citadel, and look at the spots that aren’t in direct line of sight of a defender. I’m not sure if all of them would be ‘safe’ if the defenders were hostile to you, but there are quite a few that would work. Of course cover would be blown in those cases as soon as someone waypoints in, but there are ways. And it has been done. We had a lot of golems lost a year ago as I’ve said. They were seen doing it but by then the damage had been done. Even if you couldn’t destroy the golems, the citadel shouldn’t be accessible by an enemy at all. Unfortunately there are little places that the stubborn will find, and will in turn take the devs nitpicking little spots to fix it. Some of which they might do while it’s out of use. Don’t know.
The inherent problems though won’t be fixed by a new map, although likely won’t have access in these ways for it to be an issue.

Good one.. You probably wish you could play with me cause I’m a legit player.. I don’t need to exploit into things when I’m bored. Saw exploiters come into my server and it caused lots a drama between guilds. So YES I hate players that exploit. They ruin the game for others. Sorry you don’t feel the same way.. Hackers/Exploiters have ruined many games for me over my time of gaming.

One of his posts previous to those screenshots had links to two videos showing how to get into citadel, so it can be assumed he used the same or similar method. Knowing this, all he did was show how difficult it is, at least for him and probably the average player, to survive getting past the legendary defenders in the Citadel. And I think you’re reading a bit too much into his screenshots when you literally put words into his mouth when you say he’s proving Anet won’t do anything about it.
The fact of the matter is, if it was truly as game breaking as you’re trying to make it out to be, then Anet probably would have done something about it by now. Additionally, I believe most of Anet’s resources are devoted to work on the expansion and thus a completely different borderland map where it can be assumed that this problem probably won’t exist.
Also, can you please stop going on a witch hunt after the dude who argued with you and posted screenshots. You’re starting to look like an insane middle aged man going through a midlife crisis with literally nothing better to do with his time then try and get some other players banned. And you are doing what with me? No offense. You are saying the same thing every other defenders have been saying and it doesn’t change the fact that they are breaking a game rule and doing things in-game they shouldn’t be. End of story. Hope they get banned.
