i think my guys said by that time we were down to about 5 members and probably diminished number of PUGs.

general feeling among those in HoM that were in wvw last night was that it was some epic wvw pvp and that it was worth all teh gold we spent on siege and upgrades.

Yeah, that south gate we forgot to defend.

Our guild stuck around AB all night, there was an average of 10 of us. Toward the end when AB was taken we were probably around 7ish. We honestly forgot about that inner south gate, it was our first time defending a keep when it was mostly our guild doing the upgrades and directing siege equipment. Good learning experience for us. We had some good help from other BP folks, though I don’t recall any of the larger BP guilds there helping. That’s fine though, we still held that keep against several assaults from Devona’s and Kaineg.

Why didn’t anyone hold the keep? GOAT came back in and took it back plus the Orb about 30min after we lost it.

Overall, last night was a lot of fun and our guild really enjoyed it. Like I said, it was a good learning experience for HoM.

The money and time was totally worth it! Everyone had a blast while also receiving a ton of Karma and XP for continually fighting over the Redvale and Godslore supply camps.

I actually walked away even on money spent, I basically got back what I spent b/c of all the fighting.

i saw a few tags helping us from guilds i recognize, including the larger ones, but none of them were there in force. it was kinda just us and one each from about 2-4 or so other guilds while i was there.

EDIT: there was a small zerg of BP keeping kaineng busy at times at the tower to the south outside of kaineng’s spawn. not sure which guilds were repping there.

This isn’t really true due to rendering. I would estimate there was close to 150 that zoned out for the new build in Lion’s Arch. You just couldn’t see them all because the game only allows you to see those 50 or so at a time. I originally thought it was only 50-60 as well until I walked around the edge of all the portals and you would see multiple people that you know were just there disappear and then new groups of people huddled up would appear in front of you. Then the patch happened and even more things are invisible now :-(

Keep up the good fights out there Borliss and Devonas!

Since we (Kaineng) had half of the Eternal Battlegrounds and half of the Kaineng Borderlands, I expected to see a huge force. This first picture was immediately after being teleported to Lion’s Arch.

The second picture was shortly after that when I turned names on to get a better idea of how many people there were. I like the clever kid’s comment about the developers.

I don’t even think there were 50 people in there, man. We just tend to be more aggressive from what I have seen. Over and over I’ve seen a small army of Kaineng overwhelm a larger army of whatever other team is unlucky enough to show up.

Figured I’d give you all an update on what’s going on. We took stonemist back but this was about an hour ago.

I think it’s a huge problem that Borlis Pass has no oceanic or aussie guilds besides 1 medium sized one.

Indeed Hakato, plus the rendering bug that came with the last patch is just making people not want to WvWvW when its invisible fest.

Just lower the rendering in options, that fixes everything. Atleast for me it did. I just lowered rendering to the lowest. Haha when it was at high I ran into a zerg of 20 without seeing them hahaha.

Doesn’t work after I WvW for about 2 hours people just stopped rendering, would run into a 2v2 and couldn’t see the enemy at all…could see the necro pets but not the player or even the NPC guards…..had to tab target and look for the red arrow.

The new code update must have been to reduce the zerging: make the game unplayable when you roll around with 50+.

How long had you been in that BL? Was it after you had run into a large fight with many players? After we moved to different BL/EB the problem seems to go away – at least till the next big fight.

Also at the beginning I think Kaineng focused on Devona’s Rest orb? I don’t think that was a smart idea considering you guys should have allied them. You should find out what guild took their orb and slap them.

This is so true, it makes me sad. Kaineng and Devona’s rest fighting each other is about as senseless as it gets. This needs to stop.

Yeah, there was quite a few following me around last night. I think we had up to 60 people at one point on Kaineng BL spawn camping BP. We ended up jumping maps and flipping stuff with 30-40 people the rest of the night as well. I was out there for at least 4 hours and used close to 100 flame rams last night. I can’t believe I stayed up till 4 am pacific, but at least I slept really well!

The well organized attack on Stonemist Castle last night (utilizing 4+ treb’s at Anzalias Pass) was an epic battle. Kudos go out to Kaineng for such a coordinated attack on a very hard place to take. When all was said and done we (Borlis Pass) were able to defend SM and finally launch a successful assault on Anzalias Pass, taking the keep and destroying the treb’s.

I have not had that much fun in an MMO (or any game for that matter) in a very long time.

Great battles the last few nights from both Kaineng and Devona!

Just wanted to say that last night was fun. We had a couple of great-well-organized groups that were able to hold the map for a while. In the end we fell to K and BP, but overall we had a blast. Shout out to the invaders that were harassing Dawn’s Erie on the little cliff behind it. They were some tough buggers.

Even with all the down talk we get, I can honestly say that I love the server and the people on it. We are learning and growing with each defeat and the victories are even that much better!

In the end, it’s just a game and we’re having fun!

I have to say, the fight was not quite so fun from my perspective. Two hours of work down the drain due to a glitch.

When we got into Stonemist, we couldn’t see any defenders. After a few seconds the lord was gone and I was unable to even attack him. We went the entire fight seeing only one or two defenders at a time and unable to defend ourselves from invisible attackers.

Not BP’s fault of course, and I’m not making excuses. Borlis always puts up a good fight the outcome may have been the same regardless of the bug. I just wish we could get back to winning and losing battles on our own merit and not because of software problems.

All the fights DR and Kaineng have been given are fun. I just wish BP had some type of oceanic/aussie guild besides leet to put up a fight 24/7.

Seems like everyone is transferring to Kaineng because they were in last place.

Glad to hear it. Sometimes that’s all it takes to get things back on track is a group of coordinated players that are having fun despite what’s going on in the game. We’ve ran into RED a few times now. Glad to see you guys out having fun.

RED for the most part seems to be the only guild I noticed making a big impact from Devona’s. At least that I’ve noticed personally.

With all the egotistical smacktalk that goes on the HoD vs JQ vs ET topic, this thread is such a breath of fresh air. It’s nice to see you guys having a lot of fun and praising each other for the epic fights.

There’s always room for more.

While Kaineng is slightly stronger than Devona’s Rest this week, we had a massive guild transfer here last week and I hear they’re leaving this weekend. We may be balanced or may be behind them again next week. That’s the ebb and flow of things on a small server. Every week is a different adventure.

I know DR has lost a few guilds themselves lately and are constantly trying to adapt to the changes like we are on Kaineng. From what I see on the forums and in WvW, either server would be a good choice.

Borlis Pass was a launch server and have considerably more players. While they fare well against us, when they go up a tier next week they’ll be struggling again. While things are fairly consistent on DR and Kaineg from week to week, BP’s WvW experience is a tale of bi-weekly highs and lows.

I don’t know if that would be more or less fun than losing every week as we’ve never been anything other than the red side on Kaineng, but I think we wear it well.

Lot’s of action on all fronts. Sometimes it even feels like the game the designers imagined in their head.

A friend and I popped over to Kaineng lastnight to check it out. It was a culture shock lol. The people there did all seem nice and friendly though.

Having only played a few hours for one night I am hardly one to judge the efforts of an entire server, but there were a few things I didn’t understand.

If a keep is under attack… people wrote it off as dead without defending it. Also, they would take a keep and say, “We don’t intend to hold this”. which goes back to nobody defends anything. That also leads to no one upgrading anything.

The ‘zerg’ attacking it had maybe 10 people.

Also, if an enemy is repelled at a tower… not one person stopped to repair the door. They just left it that way, which was over 1/2 down. (I repaired it)

I upgraded a few things but then realized that since nobody comes to save anything it did seem pointless. I don’t think anything on any map was ever upgraded.

Oh, my friend and I threw a ram down to take a tower. We ran back to get supplies at the camp and the enemy showed up and pushed us back into the camp. Once they left we ran back to the tower and our ram build site was still there! Luckily the guards hadn’t respawned until we got back there so we were able to save it. But that was just crazy! The enemy zerg left the build site up lol.

That is not a fair picture of how Kaineng’s WvW guilds and its members and our alliance works when we do WvW.

I would venture to guess that the assortment of random wvw players you saw didnt defend because they were used to going soemwhere to defend and having to fight off a 50man zerg with 5 or 6 defenders. its not good they didnt defend, but i can see why they’d be hesitant to do so when we are constantly outnumbered out there through the day.

primetime things start to get closer to evening out population wise tho.

Borlis Pass is a great WvW server. The only reason we can’t do much in the next bracket is because we don’t have enough oceanic/aussie guilds to hold off what we took during American hours.

Thanks for the fun this week BP and DR. We had a good time even WITH the invis bug. I’m sure we’ll all meet again.

Anyone else looking to come to a server K could sure use the help tho! :P

Kaineng + Devona’s (team) vs.
Borlis Pass

I feel like Ferg’s and BP would be a decent match, but Kaineng and Devona’s would still be outnumbered so they would have to team up.

Cheers and a /salute to Kaineng and Devona’s. I have had a blast with the late night small scale 3v3 skirmishing. It is nice to see that the small fights are starting to emerge. Brings me back to the days of DAOC. I wish you two servers all the best in your next matchups.

It’s been an amazing past week Devona’s and Kaineng. I really do hope to see you guys soon. Chances are Borlis Pass will probably stay in the higher bracket next week, hopefully Kaineng moves up and that will serve as a really good fight.

All-in-all this has been my favorite week of WvW since release. And I’m glad we were all able to talk about the great fights and battles we have been having. I guess that’s fun because it makes it better when you can put up a fight even without the numbers.

We were messing around when we said SoS was king of kaineng. And no SoS member I have seen has done any chest thumping, Chaster seems like a pretty cool guy too

We saw people bashing on Chaster and SoS while ingame for no reason(and cluttering our teams comms)so we started saying stuff like “chaster is #1” and etc to peeve them off.

No need to get upset at SoS because they are more distinguished as a guild, such pride is looked down upon around here.

But hey, it’s good to see the Kowabungah guild growing and committing more and more into WvW these days
