Mostly just curious about what everyone else thinks about these. It’s going to be almost all DBL because ABL and EBG bosses are all generic, but…oh well?

1. Firekeep/Undercroft

This one is my favorite because it has a nice mix of things I need to dodge (cone attack), things I need to plan for (fear) and damage output. It’s very engaging all around. In addition, the boss is strong enough that it makes a difference in a fight with a bunch of players without being so overbearing that it’s impossible to do anything about.

2. SET/Workshop

I like this one for much the same reasons. I can solo but only if I play my cards very well. I’m constantly responding to the boss and making up for minor mistakes. This one isn’t much of a factor in player fights, but it’s a tower boss so I don’t mind that quite as much.

3. NWT/Academy

This one is harder to avoid damage on what with all the AoE, but my success still depends on what I do and how I do it. The staging room with all the pillars and the bridge also makes for a pretty interesting battleground.

-1. Airkeep/Palace

This is, in my humble opinion, the worst boss fight in the game. The boss teleports and knocks you down to boot, traps you in a ring and AoEs you, and the battle room has wind turrets that knock you down at random intervals. I spend a third of the fight on my butt and another third trapped in that ring. I just don’t get to do things and that’s not a whole lot of fun.

-2. SWT/Outpost

This boss is Airkeep lite. It stealths and teleports and stuns. Every normal attack it does dazes. The amount of time spent staring at my screen waiting for my character to recover is dazzling in and of itself. I defend this tower more zealously than the others because I hate having to retake it.

-3. NET/Necropolis

Just like other condi kittens, there’s not much to dodge here. You either have the condi clear or you don’t. He also has a good deal of direct damage that just kind of hits you. It makes for a pretty uninteresting fight all around.

Fire/Air keep and that DAZE DAZE guy were horrific at HOT launch when stability was crippled because they pretty much crapped on it, but they’re not too bad. I remember trying Juggernaut/FT and it meant nothing.

Now, none of them are too bad though I have a severe disdain for the Airkeep boss but I really don’t like anything concerning that area. Granted, I’ve actually never solo’d a keep before; most of my experience comes from solo/duoing recapping the map or just helping pve daily folk. The towers are pretty manageable although the NET boss can screw you over if you play badly or just don’t have the dps.

It seems like the best amount seems to be 3-5 people which can take down the lord fast and also conveniently set up 2 cats instead of having to repeatedly run back for supply. More than that tends to scale them higher which of course due to strength in numbers makes it much safer but also far more tedious than it should be. Less than that and you might get bored defenders ruining the day.

I enjoy the tengu Air Keep battle…. it’s alot different than regular tower lords, and it’s nice to see these lord’s have more variety of abilities. It’s pretty amazing that even when undefended sometimes players get downed every now and then. Likely not paying attention, but sure makes for interesting battles when there is a lord involved. Adds to the game, and I don’t mind the fire keep either. I have personal Bias for the air keep though because I am a little more used to it. The design of the fire keep overall is pretty incredible but I don’t have my bearings all figured out yet, especially the south part.

What about the garri golem battle?

Rampart feels like a pretty potato battle to me. It’s not annoying but also not really interesting. I love the rock walls that pop up because of the unique theming but the boss itself deals limited damage and doesn’t do anything too cool.

ya the daze SWT troll lord…..oh man i miss his OPness sometimes. set lord….has been a cakewalk, hammer char but he offers lord defenders very useful support cc abilities. NWT on the other hand is a bit tankier but offers defenders alot less suppport and help.

I wish they all did more damage on their easy to read and dodge windups attacks.

Like the earth keep lord golemn boss is imo the best boss in terms of balance and abilities. They are easy to read and dodge/block……very easy fight that requires jumping….dodging….blocks….etc. Thats all great! The thing is tho……most of his attacks don’t do any damage! His ground pound shockwave one should do alot of damage given how easy it is to avoid yet his unavoidable fire spewer and single target spike attacks are the attacks that do the most dmg….why?

The other thing is the grills really made fighting fire keep lord a lot more managable. Well, arguably the entire keep.Though you do lose the comedy of knocking people into lava.

I really miss that lava pool, pulling/pushing people into it was really entertaining. I wish they haven’t covered all of it, but well, at least the boss is easier to fight with.

The back half of the lava pool is still uncovered. It makes the boss a bit safer but that means putting your back to any approaching enemies.
