Guild Wars 2

Last night I experienced the most unusual activity yet in WvW. While doing some small gang stuff in an enemy borderland, we witnessed something like 15-20 NSP players in the Skritt area (near the NW skill point) farming the event. The three of us killed all of them without a single one of them fighting back. Has anyone else experienced this? I thought it was pretty weird event to farm since the XP/karma wasn’t that high. But then I don’t know how fast the event resets.

I don’t think so. We watched them for a minute at first because OMGZ there’s 15 of them and only 3 of us. And they just kept running in the same circular pattern while killing skritt. Even as we moved in to kill them all, the same behavior.

Sounds like bots to me, one would think that if 15 players saw you they would at least try and kill you.

They were prolly duelboxed acounts from the other server or your own.

They are bots.
When we were on Devona’s we came across the NSP bots at the skritts also, about a week ago.
We farmed them for a couple of hours, they all run in a train on a set path, jumping every few steps. They do not attack back or do anything except stay on their path.

Seen the same behaviour on the Ring of Fire borderland last week. Bots for sure... kinda sad I didn’t report them all :/

I can confirm I also took part in a group that slaughtered them. They are bots.

Note to self: Check skrits regularly tonight.

Fort Aspenwood has a crew of bots running the skritt area as well.

Ran in to them farming in the water too.

We were puzzled that they didnt fight back at first.

I have seen one group of people running very very organised, all in small ball in size of about your usual aoe blast. And they kept that form constantly (exception when i feared some of them ) they were running behind our keep back and forth for some reason. and didn’t even attack me when they at one point surprised me coming around corner.

thought it was just very organized guild with everyone targeting only with t or something. After all it was busy time and lot of people around the place so botting seems rather stupid thing to do there..

am i bit too paranoid are people really running that organized? That just doesnt fit to what people usually do.

I’ve seen and reported bots on FSP already. Park of it is people using scripts to bot farm / get event contribution from a guild that’s doing an event. It’s like a fail mode power leveling system a few guilds have been trying.

In addition to those during prime time you’ll have anywhere from 5-10 afk bots. Queues are so bad they don’t want to leave or be kicked if they go to get food or something. So there seem to be more and more people using scripts or macos to run around the spawn camps / against the walls inside keeps / forts.

I report them when I see them but it’s really lame regardless.

Nothing like trying to fight 10-15 down people since a good chunk of your realm are afk bots preventing people who’ll actually play from playing. It’s like trying to play a football match with a third of your teaching being cardboard cutouts of Mr. T. Mr. T tries his hardest as a card board cut out but he just can’t contribute to the game. So he stands there propped up looking slight annoyed and sad inside.

i was there, with commander jones! it was hilarious at the time, but in retrospect, it’s kind of disturbing how flagrant the botting behavior was.

Thats a LOT of bots…. I suggest reporting as many as you can. Shame, as those bots are filling up the ques for people who actually want to play, ET aside, that isnt fair for those who want to get in.

On that note, however, I often put myself on run against a wall, if I need a Bio or the phone rings. I dont leave myself there for any great period of time but RL happens and I have every intention of coming back when its run off again kittenRL) lol… If I’m going afk for more than 20 mins however I will log out.. SO please, dont report lil old mee, I’m just taking a pee.

lol,this game is becoming infested with bots.Bots everywhere I go.They are at DEs,they are out in the wild in PvE(mainly waypoint camping) and even in WvW,I also read on a botter forum that work is coming along just fine on a PvP bot.

I’ve tried high,medium and low pop servers,but it didn’t make much difference except that on the low pop servers the number of real people playing where ever I went was less than the bots.

Hell,I was playing on Gates of Madness last night (AU time),and made a brand new human necro,there wasn’t enough players around to take on some major events,but there was plenty of bots camped at the frequent minor events.

But meh,the whole server seemed kinda dead anyway,like some sort of exodus gad taken place.
