So….a tarnished coast trebuchet has been shooting the exact same spot on the exact same enemy keep for approximately 6 hours now. This time frame is correct because I’ve logged in intermittently throughout the night checking to confirm this after getting suspicious, and it’s been happening non-stop. It’s on an unreachable spot in their uncappable base, way out of sight.

There is no way a player has been sitting at their desk doing this the whole night, for 6 hours straight. It has got to be a bot. Given the impact botting has had in PvE and with farming, its not unfeasible that they could also be used in this fashion to simply bombard enemy gates for HOURS ON END, giving their team a huge advantage as the said walls are perpetually destroyed.

How do you know its the same person? We do hour treb shifts on SoR.

Besides its Tarnished Coast, those RPers do some crazy things.

That could easily be shifts, even if it’s just a couple of people who are having fun bombarding. I sat on a treb at Stomemist a few weekends back and pelted YB’s Overlook for probably 2 hours straight. My shots weren’t always neat and fast as possible, but I was a newbie trebber and eating dinner at the same time. =)

If the length and consistency seem really suspicious though, see if you can get someone on that server to check on who’s manning that treb and whether they might be using any bots/macros/etc. Most TC players I know are honest and don’t like the idea of a win for us coming from cheating.

This could easily be players taking shifts. It might also be a very patient player, I’ve seen mesmers stay hidden in a keep for 4 hours.

having macro for hitting one key while using sieges is pretty common.

it’s not really a bot, even though I think it’s a bit lame.

Mostly because these macroers take server space from active people.

I know there are such “keypresser programs”(forgot the exact name) – you just set the key(s) and the time/interval(“for example: press 2, hold 5 secs and release, repeating each 6 secs”) and that’s how it goes. Is it botting? Well, you can try to destroy the treb, so I don’t think so. Is it moral to do in wvw? Hmm…

Automating actions would be considered botting. Many keyboards can do it and there are plenty of third party tools but it is disappointing to think that people are doing this , especially the server which is winning.
