Guild Wars 2

So I have only been WvWing a few weeks and I am still learning everyday. What am I missing about Altars that they are made to be destroyable?

We all know there are bugs right now with Veteran Orb Protectors spawning and eventually destroying the altars. I just can’t figure out why they are destructable in the first place. If you hold the Keep/Garrison, you should have a place to keep an Orb, you earned it by capturing the point.

Help a noob out, what game mechanic am I missing?

Quaggans can actually damage alters and break them with the random lightning they generate. It’s always a good idea to try to stay on friendly terms with them.

I dont understand how the Quaggan’s storm AoE can break the altar, unless it has a range of something like over 9000… literally.
