TL:DR If you have bugged team chat in WVW plz bump this.

Team chat is completely broken/bugged. I can’t see anyone else’s team chat. I know I’m not the only one with this problem because I’ve talked to two other people on my server with the same problem. The thing is, I have been able to communicate with other people through team chat, but only with other people who also have their team chat bugged. Everyone else’s team chat I cannot see.

This means I can’t respond to cross-map call-outs and TBH makes WVW kind of a drag to play. More importantly, without team chat I’m am no longer getting my USDA recommended daily serving of memes. Without my memes I have grown lethargic, my joints ache, and I have constant IBS.

I’ve attatched a picture to show my chat is bugged. If you look at the picture, you can see the “[T]” is showing in the chat channel, which means I have the “Show Channel Tag” option enabled. BUT, it doesn’t show the map channel (EBG,GBL,BBL, etc.) so clearly something is wrong.

Bumping! It’s been over a week (before the update) and I can’t see nor interact with team chat!

Anet replied to my ticket regarding broken team chat. They suggested to try -repair and -prefreset, which didn’t helped. So I was told just to wait for developers to fix up this bug in the upcoming patches, since this issue is happening for quite a lot of people.

Same, support just got done telling me that it’s being looked into. I only posted to make sure they were going to try and fix it so, good enough for me.

Im gonna see if using -repair is going to fix this problem.

It is likely server side, not a client side issue.

Yah guys, anet is aware of this. Just keep an eye on patch notes, hope it’s getting fixed soon.

We went from being in completely separate team chats to being able to read Chrono’s messages again (but she can’t read ours). Whatever you’re doing, it’s kinda working?

Most of you guys are lucky. Mines been broken for pretty much the entire month…

But fret not, Anet responded to my ticket a week ago. I can confirm they are working on a fix.

We just have to stay strong and wait.

Don’t do that. Someone else in my family logged in from my PC into her account, and her team chat works just fine in WvW, with same settings (or very close), same install and dat and so on.

It’s account related. The database of your account, the way how your account is linked to team chat server – somewhere that link is broken or incorrect. Has to be fixed somewhere on the server(s), not on your PC.

I submitted a ticket 5 days ago with more details, no answer yet, support is likely busy with expansion.

I reinstalled when I was looking for a possible solution to the fix. And yeah, I could use team chat on my alt acc, so I know it’s not a client issue.

Yah, it’s affecting only 1 account. Hope anet fixes it fast… Really annoying to play wvw without a team caht.

Still ‘working on a fix?’ Mine stopped working 2 days ago and still broke

I’ve submitted another ticket few days ago, asking about the progress on fixing this team chat issue.
“We do not currently have a time frame for this fix, so please keep an eye on the forums for any updates.

We appreciate your patience while we work on this issue. I know it is more than an inconvenience."

How can people play WvW without team chat. I don’t understand what it’s taking it so long so fix it. This should be priority…

Mine just broke a couple days ago and has been MIA since.

I have this same problem. Makes it very hard to command. :<

Possible ANET logic:

Eventually all people will have their team chat bugged out, and since people with bugged chat can still talk to eachother, the problem solves itself!!!!!

It has been almost a month since I could read team chat in WvW, it’s actually pretty important for some of us that play WvW.

Just had this bug two nights ago. Couldn’t see the team chat at all whereas a handful of members in my guild were reading things someone was posting in the chat.

Yep, still broke and no response to my ticket. Go figure
