Caltrops should reveal when it damages or the Caltrops on dodge should be adjusted. Fighting dire based caltrop condi thief builds borders on ridiculous.
Retaliation should apply its damage per target not per hit or have a short cooldown. Any attack with multiple hits against a retal opponent often returns a significant amount of damage. Retaliation effects are multiplied by the number of targets so a single attack with multiple hits can dish out a whopping amount of return damage against a small number of opponents. No passive defensive boon should be able to dish out north of 2.5k per target. Basically skills like Unload and Rapid Fire shouldn’t return more damage than they deal.
Cloak and Dagger off walls has been fixed at least twice before. It should be fixed again. I would also add doors and siege to that list.
There are lots of broken skills, traits, etc but tonight these proved to be some of the more annoying during my last play session.

I’m just here for the CnD off walls because I haven’t had much trouble with it in the past. But I was recently fighting a condition Thief near Stonemist Castle and the fight went on for nearly 5 minutes. Why? He couldn’t burst me down with conditions so he kept resetting the fight by CnDing off the outer walls. I eventually gave up and left because any time he was getting low he’d Shadow Refuge or spam CnD on the walls. Which I could clearly see him doing since he’d be visible for a split second when I saw him stab the wall at some random location before vanishing again.. Was the most irritating fight I’ve had in a long time.

CnD should always work on siege seeing as it can be damaged/destroyed… Don’t drop siege on people you kill if there is a thief around…
And mesmer clones will cause reveal?

You cannot damage walls tho. Yet you still can CnD out of it…

Hello, I am Oscuro of Kaineng! I have played Condi thief for a very long time, and can offer some opinions from a dedicated thief player on this topic. Caltrops are not a condi thief’s main source of damage. If they are just dodging around you to kill you, move. They are wasting their endurance which is a primary source of sustain for all thieves. Secondly, walls are only CnDable when hit from the top and within a certain distance. If a thief is running around doing this, they are no threat, so you should wait until they come down from the wall. To answer this specific scenario, if a thief cannot burst you and is stealthing off of the walls, he is
A) Not very good because, unless you play diamond skin ele, I have never encountered a player I could not kill with Condi because of the speed of the burst repetition as well as the auto attack stacks bleed
B) not going to accomplish anything since he is in your tower/keep and can’t kill a solo person. Most people unable to hold a fight long enough to cause their opponent to heal and feel threatened cannot solo keeps/towers. If you fight a good Condi thief, you will know

You can stealth off the base of the wall, just the outside part you need to jump over the bulge, you can stealth off a gate, you can stealth off supplies…..your not just limited to the top of the wall. Obviously they aren’t a good player just like a speed or fly hacker bug abuse is still bug abuse. Anet patched it once only to rebreak it again.
