Why do guild upgrades for WvW require items that we can’t get in WvW?

Can we have some sand piles?

The logic here is fail. I don’t want to FARM SAND for WVW upgrades.

I want to kill players and take objectives.

Can we get some sand?

Well, that is the thing. the GH is mainly a PvE thing, not a WvW thing. Want sand, there are places to get it pretty readily.

It is NOT a pve thing when it its FULL OF WVW UPGRADES you can only get by DOING pve.

Where is the sand in WvW? The rewards I should get for playing the game mode should attribute to my guild. So where is my sand for playing in wvw?

We should not have to go to PVE for WVW Guild upgrades!

I understand that at current it’s required.

What i’m saying is instead of adding meaningless junk to WvW, why not redo the currently flawed upgrade structure. This way you don’t have to worry about another worthless item in your inventory which is what the sand will become once you’ve completed upgrading. As is sand’s value as a whole is tied mostly to scribing which wont hold much weight once the market dies off as it’s a mostly useless craft.

There is no sand in the desert borderlands, kappa.

You would think with the BL’s being desert themed they would have Dust Mites everywhere. Then again, it would have players farming them for sand and you well know we can’t have that in WvW. It would make it to easy or profitable.

We need something like aircargo chests. Something spawns in zone that you need some other “thing” that would be dropped from PLAYERS to be able to open. Thats how to put SAND in and not encourage farming of PVE.

That way would balance ACTUAL WVW against PLAYERS with PVE content REQUIRED for a guild hall WVW Upgrade.

Kill a player – Get x amount of “dogtags or something” “enemy keycode” or whatever

USE that stack of items (Remeber you would be KILING PLAYERS to get these) and open a chest that is located on the map, exactly like AIRCARGO boxes!

Research says if you like WvW, you’re really into grinding dust mites.

They could just, oh idk this might sound insane anet, but maybe update the drops and rewards? Now I know, how dare anyone suggest we get anything useful because after all its not a gamemode where there are 200 of us going map to map auto attacking a single target for a few minutes, but hey maybe someday we can actually get sand from the desert…you never know.

EVEN BETTER – Put the “enemy bounty chest whateveryacall it” INSIDE objectives for INCENTIVE.

They did add the centaurs bag.
I believe adding sand to the loot table wouldn’t be too hard.

There was sand to be had from the dust mites in the desert borderland that had to be replaced with veteran harpy because dailies. xD

Desert Borderlands….Silky Sand, imo, sand should drop in WvW as well. Great idea.

This has been the issue all along, PvE crap in WvW! Why?! If we want to PvE we’ll go to a… I don’t know… a PvE friggin map!

Obviously, wvw isn’t gw2’s main focus. Gw2’s main focus are PvE and Esport.

No WvW upgrade needs sand but you will need sands to upgrade your guild hall to have enough level to get your WvW upgrades.

I’m sorry but you actually don’t know what you’re talking about. You don’t need sand to level scribe, and you don’t need sand to unlock WvW guild upgrades. I’m the one in charge of unlocking upgrades for my guild, I would know. The only thing you need sand for are glass mugs and sheets of extra coarse sandpaper, neither of which are used for WvW guild upgrades. The only remote case you could possibly make is you need a token amount of glass mugs to unlock the “+WvWxp %” guild enhancement, which would cost you about 4g on the trading post.

That’s a one-time upgrade for the whole guild. If your guild can’t afford 4g, then you shouldn’t even be thinking about trying to unlock wvw guild upgrades.

It wasn’t always 4g, in December it was like 8 silver per 1 pile of sand.

Haha, do to PvE players what Anet did to us and put PvE matts that can only be obtained in WvW and watch the salt flow!

There is sand in the desert borderlands (or at least there was haven’t played in a while). It’s over by the right (air?) keep on top of some plateaus. Few dust mites and dust tornado things. I actually ran into a few people form other servers trying to farm there as well (near launch) and had some good fights (all epic on top of a cliffside but with plenty of room nobody got knocked off).

WvW didn’t use to require PvE. Then Mike O’Brien got involved and ruined everything.
