100g gets you the icon and basically a pug beacon they will follow. Let there be a vote of confidence that removes the mark to non-guilded players of the Comm in question by default. This would last an hour and players could display “unfit” commanders via a toggle in the map display.

Most servers probally dont have it like we do:
[ Here is a quick frap of our commander ordering his forces out and continuing his trolling of chat while we lose SM castle]

Did he retreat so we wouldnt lose more of our fully upgraded homefront? NO. – http://imgur.com/vYcwR

They were giving jump puzzle instructions through map chat, while QL and our camps that were 100% upgraded fall. We almost lost keep.

This isnt uncommon or isolated to one guild. ninja claims from a guild that funded and siege a garrison, refusing to escort orb unless brought to HIS claimed objectives, and group looting supplies of non guilds keeps/towers . . .

Even if there was, it doesnt solve the problem. There will always be new people they will follow he blue icon. When he says:

“Dont worry about keeps we will get more points after puzzle when we take it back, and you can use free siege”

His zerg guild and numerous pugs abandon our objectives. The shortage in manpower cost us objectives, then he come back and has the pugs drop sieges so he can claim keep. Basically stealing it at the cost of all its upgrades.

They need a system that hold them responsible for there action. Its a responsibly and privilege, if you abuse it or cant handle the pressure toggle it off.

ironic, but in gw2 the problem is always with guilds…
Guilds cannot queue enough of their people in to make a real force, so they form these halfa$$ zergs (sometime with another guild) and disrupt overall strategy and tactics. They run their own objectives, without communicating with rest of the players for battlefield information, and without giving information to rest of the population so they could obtain support.

This morning in HoD-SBI-JQ game EB, without presence of any guild, we (HoD) were making 10k karma/hour, till (Yes I am going to name these kitten PRX and SYN got maybe 20 people into the game, and decided to attack overlook (JQ keep) without consulting with anyone. 3 wipes and rest of the population went down to 2k/hr.

Seriously, people that don’t understand the timer, and cap everything few seconds after round completion should just delete their chars and stop playing this game, let alone trying to lead…

I think the problem in this case was more the jumping puzzle :P

Why do we have to map WvW complete with vistas AND have jumping puzzle achieves there? It just brings people to WvW who aren’t there to fight they’re just there to be a tourist. Commanders included.

I’ve always communicated with militia whenever I’m in EB, and I operate by the timer, so I have no idea what you’re talking about. Just ask anyone that played before in EB.

That’s what you get for playing on the zerg server where the organized guilds are actually full of players that are worse than the randoms.

^This.

You don’t need a voting system, but you should have the option to turn it off. A voting system is ridiculous tbh. PUGs/noob will always do something stupid anyway.

Just better if the smarter people at least have the choice to ignore commanders if they so choose and turn off their icons.

A warrior, a guardian, and an elementalist walk into an open field…
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”

I agree there should be an option to ignore it…until we all have enough money to buy one and there are 1,000 ‘commanders’ running around all shouting orders lol…commander should be visible to GUILD ONLY. The rest of the players DO NOT CARE and DO NOT WANT to see that icon. And to the OP…..plz warn us the next time you post a horrible video like that, not all of us are 12 years old out here.

I don’t understand why commander is bought with 100g, rather than EARNED through a difficult WvW achievement (E.X. Time spent, enemies killed, locations captured/defended). With gold inflation pretty soon everyone will be running around with a blue symbol above their heads anyways >.< They really need to make some sort of symbol that can only be earned by experienced WvW players.

i can agree to this so some degree, if enough players think a commander is not fit for the job they could vote him to step down and be returned lets say 50-75g. But for this to happen their need to be a fair system for this to work, i cant relaly think of one atm. But im just spitballin here

This made me laugh, really hard. HoD sounds like a really fun server. Dont attack because its fun, because you want to fight, no no you must wait on a timer because we need 10k karma/hour….

You sir are pathetic. I would rather be last place and having fun every moment I am out there, then dancing to the tune of a bunch of bean counters playing the point system.

Grat on first place, I am sure its worth it and something you will cherish 2 years from now.

Just stop following commanders, make a group of people you know, it’s the only way to ensure an elite group anyway. As soon as someone in your group turns on a commander tag, you get a bunch of pugs stuck to you and it’s impossible to use any kind of stealth tactic.
