At least for 1 map? Like maybe have red borderlands be the desert one and the other two can be the good old fashioned BL’s we love. Seriously though, too much PvE crap and too many cliffs to navigate around to make this fun. Old ones were nice for both zerging and roaming, the new ones not so much. I guarantee I’m not the only one who thinks this so could anet please at least consider changing at least 1 of them back to the old borderland map? I’d rather play on that one any day over the desert one.

Really why so much PVE in an open world PVP map? Why?

You’re certainly not the only one who thinks this; it’s been a very common request, haha. We’re still waiting on a response.

As there were so many other threads like this, I imagine it will be merged shortly.

They said it would probably be back one day…. but not soon enough if you ask me.

A better question would be : “Can we get the old population back, please?”

Yes give the old maps back – new ones are not wvw.

I would do the following:

Remove autoupgrade
Rework EB to reflect a homeland
Remove laser (put camp in center instead) and remove jump pads and some traps.

then put difrent homeland maps in place.
Top server: alpine
Middle: reworked Borders
Low: Desert.

Drop EB

Maybe replace EB with a type of Desert map…. and get the old BL´s back.

I really wish the old maps were back permanently with tweaks here and there. Its no coincidence that during primetime EBG is the first one to be queued…lol

Wait… why do people keep suggesting the removal of EBG and the implementation of EotM as a borderland? They’re different styles of maps and are quite nice as alternatives.

If it’s a matter of pushing populations around, Anet could implement a connection strategy like Planetside 2 (where to take another territory you need to own the one attached to it) and have the connections go between EBG and the BLs… but that would probably play havoc on raiding groups and would probably render scouting more or less useless. But hey, if we’re talking about the upheaval of the two WvW maps that are ever full at the moment…

The chief issue I’ve had with the WvW map changes is that Alpine was removed entirely. It could just have easily been implemented as an optional map.

But who knows? Maybe the upcoming WvW change will be awesome. Might even bring back Alpine, eh?

I think it’s dumb to have 3 of the same maps and then Eternal as the fourth. 1 map should be DL BL, 1 map should be alpine, 1 map should be eternal, 1 map should be EotM or something new. Or just remove the fourth map entirely, I don’t think anyone really cares if they don’t have a home borderland if it will drive the population and help fix the other problems. The gameplay was never meant to be balanced to begin with, I really don’t see the logic in keeping the maps mirrored (out of a sense of balance) for all 3 sides.

Are they trying to confused new players into making believe that WvW is balanced? Are we all just victims of a PR campaign? lol….

EBG is the favorite WvW map of many people, myself included. I would hate if they ruined that one, too.

I support this wholeheartedly.
It would really help with the queue on EB. On Piken, we’ve had a 45+ queue yesterday.

A toal of three diffrent homeland maps (Alpine, adapted EB and reworked desert) .
Overflow goes to EotM.

Bringing back old bls Won’t chance anything. You need New good stuff with a good launch and a bit of marketing. They can’t do anything of that.

Won’t speak for everyone since I can only speak for myself… But I truly miss Alpine. Roaming in Alpine BL, sieging NE tower in order to get a response… if no response I would build a treb and start trebbing garrison and believe me… it took more time building the treb with the 100 supplies already in the tower than to actually get somone run over to NE tower to try and fight me :’). I miss running in the good old flat terrain where you could spot your ennemy from a considerable distance away and actually get a good fight… Those were the good old days.
