I have been doing WvW again. Mostly because my day night cycle is beyond repair and I am awake at 3 o’clock in the morning with nothing better to do…

But I had really fun these past week and had some awesome moments, and really enjoy the late night shift.

Anyway, something that I realized playing on Desolation is that the Tier system will probably never work. VS is really awesome and they are a tier of their own and as we dropped to Tier 2 the other week we basiclly mopped the floor with the other two server. Even though I think all servers I experienced so far are pretty good opponents.

So why do we have balanced maps? If we would introduce maps that would put one or two server in severe tactical disadvantage the matches will probably be a lot more balanced and probably be more fun for everyone.

The server which would normally get steamrolled would have a fighting chance and the handycapped server would face a stronger opposition.

Thoughts?

Isn’t that what the Borderlands are about? Each Borderland being unbalanced in favor of one server?

Yes and no, they are balanced because there are three of them and each one puts one server in the middle spot. My idea goes more in the derection to have 3 diffrent borderlands where the middle spot is somtimes harder and sometimes better to defend.

Good servers would get the hard borderlands and weak server would get the easy borderlands. Leaving them with more recources to push in the EB ord the harder to defend borderlands as attacker.
By the way I would argue the middle spot in the borderlands is usually an advantage and not a disadvantage.

Well kitten why else would you want to take it?

You mean like an event that only effects the winning server rather it be mob or bad weather.

While the losing side could get reinforcements that are similar to the siege captain but instead of attacking tower they`ll roam the field rally the mobs into an army.
