I think everyone agrees that anything would be better than that island.

Why not just put a lvl 240 Dragon there that respawns only once every 36 hours and has a chance to drop precursors

Because there would be a massive influx of PVE stawarts coming in, increasing queue times (and hence garnering complaints from WvW stalwarts hereabouts).

And of course, the PvE peeps would start cry whining on here because the WvW players would be killing them in their droves as they tried to get to the dragon – since it is PvP after all. Yea – loot bags for all!

i echo these sentiments. it would be awesome to have an official court for it, especially if it can double as a GvG arena as well. then it would just be up to everyone to work out schedules, which they currently already are with no problems.

I want the whole map redesigned. The center island would be removed if I had the ability to do so. It is one of the LEAST strategic areas of the map. Surely with all the misused land in the BL, something better can be done in the south and middle of the map. Either that or make underwater fighting 1000x better. I think the map redesign would be easier and more enjoyed by all.

The center island is awesome for getting stacks back up as a small group after wiping, there’s also more fighting there than you’d think :P Perhaps because it’s used as a gathering ground before charging into garrison water gate.

I am not interested in basketball or LeBron. I want underwater combat. Period.

Do not replace the lake with dry land (stuff inside the lake can be redesigned).

Make it some multi duelling arena like in Queen’s Pavillion only instead of npc you fight other players wich queue.Winner wins 1 point for the server so everyone is happy :P.

Nobody is forcing you to fight underwater. You can even move from North to South of map without touching any water. The only occasion where you are forced to touch tiny bit of the wet matter is Bay, but you could ask a friendly mesmer to portal you over, so your feet don’t get wet. ;-)

To deny the pleasure of underwater combat from others if you don’t enjoy it, doesn’t make sense.

Not even then, He could just WP in and out of bay..if its his server at least. And if its that bad. He should just solo take bay and solo hold it all week. If hes that determined not to touch water i believe he can do it ;D

theres not much pleasure in playing a game during alpha testing, which has been the state of underwater combat since… forever. they just stopped developing it 90% of the way through or something. but the last 10% is what makes or breaks in pvp modes. and its broken.

No.I just hate water because I can’t sit on an arrowcart in it.

The center island should be replaced with an underground missile silo. It will only be accessible when you have the outmanned buff. It will take 200 supplies to build a tactical nuke. It can target any location on the map. once the coordinates are set in, there’s a countdown and the nuke will launch. Any area it is launched at will instantly be flipped and belong to the team that launched it and a 30 minute poison cloud will hang around the area that will damage any enemy for 1500 a tick. Any enemy who is in the area that the nuke impacts will instantly be killed, no down state just dead. Since Anet seems so dead set on making siege even more overpowered than it already is with these ridiculous masteries. I’ve taken it to the extreme. And then we can wait for the traitline “nuke mastery” which will let you blow up an entire map and flip it.

Do the Sonics not play in Seattle anymore? Haven’t followed the NBA since Michael Jordan retired.

I quite like this idea but would make it a map-flipper full stop. Also increase the supply needed to 500 (200 hundred supply would be too easy for a group of 20 to initiate the strike). Not a nuke but nuke like, the ‘detonation’ would need to be a wave that flows out from the center island killing everything (no matter which server triggers it, so it is a suicide mission unless you portal to the immune areas). Citadel and the BL waypoints would be ‘immune’ but the map would be unplayable for 30 minutes (the poison cloud or toxic ground idea would work).

I think the max PPT on a BL map is 145 (290 for 30 minutes)? That’s pretty paltry – so maybe quadruple points for that 30 minute period? So the server that pulls off the Flip gets a guaranteed 1160 points. At the end of the 30 minutes, all assets become neutral and up for grabs. Effectively a way of resetting a map!

The NPCs on the island would need to be fairly powerful – the blob that needs to turn them would need to work hard to do it. And once the device is built, it would need to take a significant time to be channeled. Channeling should pause as long as the island is contested (so, if an opposing player gets into the circle during the channeling period).

I’m pretty sure I’ll get Zap from the Maw event Chest before Seattle gets a basketball team again.
