Currently if someone /invites you, it shows them your name, so even if you decline the invite, they can still start sending you messages. Sure I can just block them, but it’d be nice if I didn’t have to do that just because the system currently makes it easy for people to whine at me.

I have played WvW a whole lot since the first Beta. In all that time I have had less than 10 such times where someone invited me into party to whine. And even those were mainly because people thought I was hacking due to me c&ding off walls or spamming unlimited range thief sword #2.
However, I can’t count the numbers of times I’ve found respectful people and even good friends via that party invite feature. The people you play against in WvW aren’t your enemies, they are people you play with just like your allies, and it’s natural wanting to discuss with them.
So, perhaps instead of selfishly demanding a removal of an useful tool, you just use that block feature? I really doubt you have to use it more often than maybe once a month.
Not being a softie who gets offended by the words of a random teen in the Internets, helps too.

A useful tool? Being able to invite someone is a useful tool, and if they choose to accept then that is fine. If I choose to decline an invite, the person should not be able to see my name anyway. I’m not at all saying remove the ability to group/talk with people on other servers, just that if I choose not to interact with someone, they shouldn’t be able to regardless.

And while you might not get many party invites, I do.
