Q:
Can you queue for multiple WvW zones at once?
A:
No, you can currently only be queued for one map at a time. Here’s a basic breakdown on how the queues are setup:
- You can only be queued for one WvW map at a time.
- If you try to enter a WvW map while queued for another one and the new map is not full, you will join that new map and still be queued for the first one you tried to enter.
- If you are queued for a WvW map and try to queue for a second WvW map that is full, you will be asked if you would like to queue for the second map. If you select ‘No’, you will still be in queue for the first map. If you select ‘Yes’, then you will enter the queue for the second map and no longer be queued for the first map.
- You can be queued for a WvW map while in an overflow map, but you will not be able to see scores or team names while you are in an overflow map.
Due to the amount of people we see queued for maps while spaces are open in other maps, we have started talking about possible ways we can change the current setup to help get people into the other maps if they have space available, but that stuff is all still in the discussion phase so it’s not likely we’ll be able to change things anytime soon.
Yes, you can queue for all the Borderlands and Eternal at once.
Genius
what about showing the slots available in each map? like
you can see 145/150 in red or 10 slots available in blue something like that, that would help just a lil bit.

Why would I want to queue for all the maps? This is Guild Wars and I want to play with my guild on the same map at the same time. I don’t want to be in a boarder land while the rest of my guild are in EB.

Are you sure about this? I am pretty sure I have been able to queue for multiple borderland maps, and get a pop for one, hit No, stay in queue, then have a pop for another, like EB and hit yes and enter. Unless it has been changed in the last patch or two…

Because not everybody is part of a wvw guild and would rather just get in and play in any WvW zone untill a slot opens up. Alternitivly if all the queues are full which one is the shortest? right now there is no way to tell so you could end up siting in an hour long queue for one borderlands while another one is only 2 minutes long. You could also have 1 guild mate queue for first avalible slot and then have the rest of the guild queue for that map to meet up as it probably has the shortest queue time. It really depends on what you’d rather do, cool your heels in LA while waiting to join your guild in EB or have some fun in a borderlands while waiting to join your guild in EB.

Why would it effect you ? If there is one more option queue for all it will help a lot of people get into W3 quicker – if you want to join your mates, just queue for that specific map.

As DooJoon said, it seems like some sort of way to see how big the queue was would be helpful. Even without showing the the number of slots available in the map/server, just knowing that I’m #7 in line versus #320 in line would make a big difference in choosing where to head with my guildmates.
Thanks for the response Mike!

Because a lot of players go in WvW zones to PvE, do jump puzzles and do their AKF’s .
WvW should be about PvP and all PvE should be removed from there + all NPC’s except repair armor and buy siege weapons .. no trader no bank no nothing.

I would second this as an intermediate fix.
If on the button to join a WvW area it also said: “X fighting, Y queued” it would solve a lot of the bad feelings, and would balance the zones out really easily.
I want it to be possible to remove yourself from queue if you decide you don’t want to go WvW after some time. Usually you need to wait until it asks you travel, go to end of queue or leave queue. Should be possible by clicking the WvW button and then a leave queue button there. Also I want to see my map completion at the WvW screen or somewhere else from outside WvW. I don’t want to join the wrong map And I think in one of the borderlands I still need a few vistas at castles that usually belong to others(others there as defender and usually holding it all the time until rotation and you are another color and defending there).
