Change splash damage on Cata's/Treb's
I’m not sure that this deserves a fix to be completely honest. While certain spots are undeniably exploitative, pretty well all of them can be easily countered with proper siege placement.
The only two that come to mind as being an issue is the spot beneath Veloka Slope bridge and the hill west of Bay in the Borderlands. Both can still be countered but it’s a bit more difficult.
If these splash damage places were impossible to defend against and they were being used all the time then I would agree that they’d need to be fixed. Most of them are last resort options however and nearly all of them can be defended against if you know where to place the counter siege.

trebs and shield gens are generally last resort theses days.
but there is a surprising few spots around eb at least. i can think of 6 spots off the top of my head. with 1 of em being literally impossible to defend while in towers (which is klovan).
the other thing while in theroy you can always set up counter siege to hit it. there are spots where you have to leave the tower to set up counter siege, not only that it makes it harder than it should be, but it makes certain sides of eb more unbalanced based on the exploits.
The way splash currently works seems pretty intuitive to me, though I agree there are some issues with it. I think the real problem is the bug that makes diagonal surfaces extend hit-boxes, or w/e, which allows for the splash to hit a wall that’s way further above/below it.
We were told about that bug months ago but I’ve been sparse since then so I don’t know if any progress has been made on fixing it. As for siege in general…I don’t recall seeing any red posts about it ever at all outside of polls. Thus, I’m not sure how much is bugged and how much is intended.

Almost all towers have a weak spot but some are annoyingly so since hitting the ground underneath the wall damages the wall. Veloka (under bridge) and Langor (the cliff side) are particularly problematic.
That said, it is part of the game and probably shouldn’t be changed at this late date. I do wish Klovan and Wild Creek had spots that allowed for better counter siege course it is offset by Aldons and Jerri being the most difficult to take when a server defends well.

i personally dont wanna use this strategy 2 years down the track in WvW. because as an exploit, its a mechanic that stops Anet being able introduce new things into WvW. any new strategy or mechanic that could be introduced in the game may be redundant knowing this exploit exist.
