Q:
So, as I was wondering:
Currently, the prices for transferring to certain servers are absolutely horrendous. I would like to know if there is any reason to hold onto my money until the transfer prices go down, or will the prices stay as they are?
Could perhaps any ANet staff member answe this so I can exclude either of the options?
If this already has been answered, could someone please post the source stating what happened?
Cheers!

The answer is quite simple. They increased prices to stop the mass bandwagoning , that destroys wvw. Hopefully your at somewhat peace with whatever is making you think about transferring . Don’t foresee it going down. Too much money to be made off the bandwagoners who can’t get along outside tournament rewards

Some of the problems are, SBI was locked in at 2400, because we were 8th when the season started, but we are 11th now. HoD, is 1000, and they were 13th when the season started and 7th now.
This actually affects more than just a few servers.
Could still do with some clarifications, here. For example, can we expect the gem prices to adjust accordingly with coming Tuesday’s hotpatch?
bump for ANet response please ty
I also would like to know I want to go to Piken that is not the best wvw server, but better than Whiteside Ridge on which I am now and that one just lacks people.
I want to know why Anet is so quiet about this. There has been posts about this for weeks now.
Are the lockouts from transferring during WvW also in place? I looked on the wiki and it said you would be locked out of WvW until the following friday of the next week during the tournament. I’m willing to bet that if the pricing is still in place, the lockout is as well.
It’s another big gaffe by Anet to not have updated the transfer prices right after the season ended because it is encouraging transfers to servers with lower transfer prices at the exact time that guilds are looking to transfer post-season. My server is missing out on these transfers because our transfer price cannot compete with a server with a lower transfer price.
I imagine June 3rd will bring along some change in transfer pricing…
Considering that the whole point of the pre-season and season pricing structures was to encourage transfers to the lower tier servers, which was successful, it is unconsciousable that prices have not been updated immediately at reset since many server ranks have changed.
Yeah, Chaba, my server has it worse. Sitting at 11th, with a 2400 price tag, while YB and HoD are ahead of us. IoJ is at 2400 also.
