So…I logged in just back from a trip…and opened my season one chest as soon as I logged in (which I was looking forward to the whole trip) and was disappointed like everyone else—total crap after so much effort. Then I joined our guild voice-com only to learn that due to the complaints, an anet dev hinted that they may change the chests to make the rewards better and suggested that folks not open their chests before the patch next Tuesday. What about the folks like me that didn’t get the message and already opened our crappy chests?

To say I am disappointed would be an understatement. If this is the crap they are gonna give us they can forget about more seasons…I feel jerked around.

The rewards were perfectly fine. They were far greater than any other achievement meta in the game.

You can be disappointed, but its not A-Nets fault, it is your sense of entitlement. “so much effort”… lol.

i also get the same reward, rubbish really but i dont mind because along the 7 week long season i gained 100+ wvw level, 12 exotics drops, 8% passive magic find, bags from champions, tons of materials and gold, some achievement point, in game skill and experience and most precious of all i get to read complaints about rewards like this.

i would say i am blessed with the rewards cannot say the same about you

My rewards in 6th place Gold League are the same as Bronze after all that work and coordination between commander’s, and guilds my server went through.
Its not just about entitlement, Even though A-net DID SAY we would get rewards based on our server’s performance.
Its about being fair. I’m a crafter I actually use everything I’m given, you could say I see the eventurality of rewards like dragonite and bloodstone dust, but even I can’t justy vaule the reward to the one week it took me on a motivated server, when in that same time there were much better opportunities to progress to my acsendeds/legendaries.
You can Argue that synergies would make up the difference. However, A-net did lead everyone to believe that LS and this special tourney being the center of attention was the path to riches tied to server performance. The mixed messages that were sent would confound any gamer trying to get ahead to go in one direction or another, with no good results either way. Simple put A-net did set themselves up for the backlash this time.

The only difference between gold, silver and bronze is population/coverage. Your reward based on your performance was the extra chest after wvw reset. If you placed 1st in your match the week before you got 3 chest total when you ranked up 3 times. If you placed third you only got 1. I actually gambled that the rewards were going to be trash so I decided to not finish the merc camp achievement even though when I looked today I only had a few left to get the key. Did you really expect to get rewards rained upon you when WvW has been on the short end of the stick compared to PvE in the loot department?

I was actually hoping for like a specific weapon skin for the meta achievement. That would have been great! If you got the meta done you’d get a one time only skin that would have been a fitting reward. Not only was the season one chest kitten…but it didn’t have anything in there to distinguish it from any other reward. It was a lazy move by A-net.

Agreed and the biggest slap in the face is the limited time use finishers…

If I’m around for the next leagues I know I won’t bother with it unless they change their philosophy up.

Where is the official response (forum post) that they said they would change it? If they really change it they should just give everyone that participated a bit more stuff – so people that already opened the chest would also get it.

Also give it regardless of rank. It is the reward for meta achievement and everyone completed the same meta achievement. If they now start to give more to top ranked servers only then others will complain because they worked more and get less. And then they need to give more again. More, more, more. It will never stop.

I think they should give out more world wide to everyone who completed it. Ascended mats like fotm meta, more of them though. An ascended weapon box of our choice and or unique weapon and or armor skins of our choice. Fat chance at that happening though. Their only saving grace is the nice changes coming to the cross of pvp/pve with gear and luck.

I don’t understand this chest. I am actually a little bit angry about their laziness. I think they could have added a couple simple things that would’ve made most people happy. I wasn’t one of the people that were expecting a precursor or an ascended weapon from this chest. But Anet put a mystery key as the meta reward this gave a lot of people the impression that they reward was something that they had to get or they would be missing out on something possibly awesome. At least that is how I felt. I think they could have made that dolyak finisher be permanent I am not sure whose stupid idea it was to make that limited this would be the exclusive reward for the winners of their leagues. All meta chests should have contained 500 badges of honor, that mini pet, couple rares, a random exotic(It could be anything including very rarely a precursor), 10k karma, and some seige blue prints. I think that would’ve made a lot of people feel rewarded and happy without the reward being overkill.

If the chests are changed it would be TOTALLY unfair to the people that didn’t have any form of warning and already opened theirs.
I hope some form of compensation will be present – or it would be a very poor way to handle things.
