Class for my next WvW character, PRE-based?

My current character is an 80 warrior, built without WvW in mind. I have made some changes, but I ignored precision the whole way on this character. Just didn’t see the need for it in PvE, when monsters happily stand still for bleeds or hundred blades.

My warrior isn’t useless; he’s hard to kill and a good support character with shout heals and horn for speed and condition reversal. But I would like another character with a different feel.

Obviously, it’s good in WvW to crit, because opponents don’t seem to want to let me hit them over and over. So it’s better to do damage “while the gettin’s good” as some say.

So, I’m looking at starting another character as kind of another club in my golf bag, to do a different job than my stalwart warrior. I’m not looking for “OMFG look at the numberzzzz,” but a steady damage stream augmented with a lot of crits.

In addition to recommending classes/weapons, is there anything I should know about focusing on precision? Is there a cap on crit chance or other details I should know? (Like people making AoE builds should know about the cap of 5 targets.)

You could run a S/P+SB thief.
It has decent survivability, high and consistent dps, works well in a zerg with cluster bombs making you a walking ballista (infiltrator’s arrow gives you good mobility as well) and works amazing with a party of 5 roamers (shadow step immboilizes, Pistol Whip stuns/evades, haste makes your burst damage so high its scary-at the cost of mobility-)

When done correctly you turn into a badge farming machine and one of those players that you never-ever want to 1v1 and not because they’re gimmicky using stealth but because they’re tough as nails.

The playstyle is generally use your SB and wait until someone is out of position, then switch to S/P, shadow step in, use PW then Haste and PW 1-2 more times. If things get scary use Shadow Return to teleport out.

In a roaming party you can usually keep your S/P out because you’ll always be on the move, the GS guardian will probably be faster and slow the target down initially then you support by immobilizing and stunning while providing high dps.

at lvl 80 I think 21 precision=1% crit chance.
