Class roles in WvW
So yea, from your guys experience, what does each of these professions excel at, and what style of build complements it most?
You pretty much answered your own question in your post lol.
Guardian is pretty much as you described it, and the Warrior is as well except they also have good zerg busting builds.
Rampage Wilson – Charr Engineer

Guardians specced for consecrations are actually absolutely vital for sieges, in higher tiers anyway. The wall to reflect projectiles, staff 5 and AoE stability for when a door is broken from either side and Sanctuary are extremely powerful abilities that will regularly make the difference between taking/keeping a fortress and failing. Only problem is, the game does not reward that playstyle currently and I have no idea what the Feb patch will change about that.
Warriors with their versatility, high damage and/or good support are also very valuable assets for every group and zerg, but given the huge numbers of them on pretty much any server I’ve played on and against your individual contribution will probably make less of an impact. Longbow with the huge combo field on F1 and 3 as a finisher is actually superb in siege situations.

Yea, I was giving my overall impression from levelling each to about level 15, and looking at traits lol. I wasn’t sure how much actual gameplay would differ.
Which profession would be better at getting loot bags? I’d assume warrior, because of the higher damage potential, and more aoe capabilities?

If you spam with a Staff then Guardian. Otherwise Warrior.

The guy isn’t serious.
Necros make a great tanky aoe class with a staff/well build and are one of the only classes with an aoe boon removal spell.
I sense bias on necros. They can also man siege
Rangers are great at gathering pearls in the lake. Haven’t you noticed that many of them wear pearl necklaces?
Alright, well although the Guardian seems like it has a lot more uniqueness to it than the Warrior, I like the shortbow for a little AoE option.
I already have an 80 Necro and they do seem pretty useless WvW, at least in my power build. I’ll have to try a condition/epidemic/long range well bombing build for siege defense sometime

I was just ribbing the overall community over their most common complaints.
Necromancer is fine once you’ve figured out how it works. It’s not as straight-forward as some of the other professions. The biggest complaints have to do with the bugged minion AI.

I should clarify: those complaints aren’t mine. They’re the ones people comment on the most in the necromancer forums.
