This wasn’t thought through at all. It isn’t back dated, and I’m sure there will be an uproar from the people who have bought commander tags for multiple characters.

At least it’s not tooltips this time.

Does that mean the tag is account bound then?

Probably not.

No it doesnt, only the book is. If commander tags would be account bound it would have gone with huge anet hyping. This is just a fix, for all the customer support ticket they receive ‘omg bought book can’t use it blablabla’.

The ITEM is account bound, not the tag.

Did they change it so it doesn’t disappear on use? That would be a huge change if they did.

I was hoping I’d be able to get a Commander Tag now without having to spend hundreds of gold for all my characters.

Anet, you guys are just kittening with us now, right? You have to be. I can’t think of any other reason for fixing/adjusting this “issue” that nobody had or cared about than to troll the hell out of us. Good game, guys, good game.

lol I read the patch notes, logged onto my ele who I hadn’t bought a tag for yet and couldn’t activate the commander tag that i had purchased for my guard, reread the patch notes, laughed at Anet.

Welp…I was so excited when I read the patch notes, thinking I’d finally find it worthwhile to get a tag (I have a lot of characters, and play them all frequently), and then I found this thread.
