Commander Interviews on WvW Meta
Well they do raise a few good points, some quite baffling.
I mean Living World gets updated every two weeks with many people complaining that the pace of change is too fast.
Yet WvW, the core activity for a significant portion of the player base has gotten relatively little attention and changes.
At the end of the day though I also feel a bit sorry for ANet. I think everybody has a similar image of what WvW should be like. Something slightly more reminiscent of DAoC, larger maps, more strategy, less zerging etc.
But the technical limitations imposed by the engine (limited map size, AoE cap) etc. mean we will never truly get there.
Another thing is though that with ANet, unlike Ghostcrawler in WoW or some other game-designers, I don’t have the feeling there is anyone who has a real grasp on the game, the mechanics and how it all merges into the playing experience.
Instead everyone is broken into teams, doing their thing, but the ship doesn’t have a Commander who really understands how everything comes together.
The most insightful posts to be found here are by some players (not the majority, but some) not the developers.

sounds like all 3 are t1 commanders who run guild groups. they may hold differing opinions and be physically discrete from each other, but theyre pretty much all the same person. not very diverse for interviewing 3 people at once.
but frankly… i dont disagree with them. attacking vs defending is out of balance. the borderland revamp is ok, but bloodlust isnt. matchmaking is no longer the issue with rankings. the “father knows best” attitude is gonna bite the devs.

Not sure where Kamikaze’s from, but I think three of those commanders are from TC. I think a bit more spread might be nice to have.
Still good interview, though.
As a player from TC, I can say that the only notable Commander from TC on that list is Commander Jadon. It is worth looking over the portion noting what he said.
