Commander Tags & Leading
1) There are no “Game Masters”
2) Then only follow recognized commanders on the server public TS (if there is any). It aint harder than that. Yes, there will always be kittenty commanders that dont know in what direction to put a catapult. If a known commander comes and tag up when there is such a kittenty commander online… watch the zerg flock to the known commander. Commanding has always been community driven. Also, I noticed you said EoTM… hahahaha… “commanding”… yeah right. Dont follow the commanders there at all then.
One good idea would be that comanders who have under 150k kills couldn’t use tag in EotM.

First, forget EotM even exists. The purpose of EotM was to be an overflow for people waiting in queue to get into WvW. Now it’s just full of karma training up levels who have no idea how a real fight works.
Any person who knows what they’re doing as a commander will be using some type of voice communication such as a public TS for the server—I suggest using it. Learn who the good pins and the not so good pins are for your server. Follow who you like, join their squad, problem solved.
Achievement points do not reflect commanding ability in any way, and nor will any criteria. The fact that anyone can buy a commander tag is actually useful for impromptu runs when nobody else can lead. This is especially true in EOTM where most people are just here to train. Just be thankful. The grand majority do it to volunteer a better karma train and they certainly aren’t obliged.
Now, maybe there could be specialty tags that could be unlocked, but any criteria can always be exploited. Not to mention someone can be good at commanding but maliciously lead to wipes and stuff.
In real wvw, voice chat solves all problems as serious commanders will use that to command and if you’re not on it, then you won’t be able to follow as effectively and shouldn’t complain to begin with.
Failing that, tag up or shut up is my motto. If you are too dependent on people, you will be subject to their whims more. That’s just how everything works.
In any case, I feel the limitations suggested would hurt legitimate commanders who command a lot more than it deters trolls.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.

Time of stay/age of player does not determine who is and is not a good commander. On every server I have played on, a good commander will have a bunch of people following and bad one will run with few or none. The system as it is works well enough for sorting good/bad commanders. More tag options would be appreciated though.
“Youre lips are movin and youre complaining about something thats wingeing.”
At least there should be ignore commander list. If some list commander have tag active in overflow game wouldn’t send me in same map.

How bout you use your brain and morals to figure out who you want to follow eh? Instead of trying to get ANET to decide for you (goes for any post of commander ranks, ignore lists, etc).
cmdr leads you to your doom? don’t follow him.
cmdr curses the kitten out of you? don’t follow him.
cmdr leads you to lots of bags? follow him.
cmdr thanks you for your help and input? follow him.
got a tag and the current cmdr is one you hate or think is bad? tag up and let the pugs decide who is better.
If you can’t remember that you hated a commander then he wasn’t bad enough to stick in your mind. Try him out again. Maybe his first impression didn’t do him justice.
